Will catted downpipes past nj inspection
NO worries they will pass,I'm actually going for an inspection today here in N.Y...and it will be my 4th time is a charm passing with the
PPE catted DP which are the only ones that will pass OBD emissions testing.....if your tuned you will need to return to stock tune a few days prior to testing in order to complete the full driving cycle procedure which sometimes can take up to 200 miles in order to have all the I/M complete and readiness status. I emphasized the important part above. Do NOT buy any other catted DP's if you want to run untuned without a CEL, pass emissions, or be able to take your car in for warranty work without a CEL with the factory tune.
IMO, I would either run PP catted downpipes or go catless with any quality brand. No reason to have cats that still trigger the CEL in my opinion.
My car has catted PPE as well and no CEL with the stock tune. Car is happy and so am I. Not sure there's much of a power gain though.
