Corsa Exhaust

Hi!

I really don't know. I suspect anything it may add is is under significantly below 20WHP all by itself (catback)..... Most people seem to be doing it for appearance and a better exhaust note under load.  Maybe others with the exhaust will chime in.  Livernois or someone like them may have dynos if you ask for them.

I know a guy who has a Corsa exhaust on his SHO (with a catless DP) and he claims it gets a little annoying on the highway. I thought it sounded pretty good from the outside but I never rode in the car.

To really help Rojas maybe we can get some comments from those with experience with the Corsa exhaust and both the catted and catless DPs of different makes.  Corsa advertises quiet cruising so I'm wondering if it was the combo you describe (?brand DPs and Corsa) or poor marketing.  :dunno:

Corsa cat back exhaust is NOT LOUD at normal highway cruising speed of 70-75 mph  ....  It is not so tame when you put your foot in it ..... I like the sound ....

The Corsa system is not loud at cruise at all no drone either. As for power there probably is some there. As less back pressure allows for faster spooling of turbos. Corsa system with catted dp might be a little to much for some. Still no noise at cruise and no drone, but when cold under part throttle can be very nasty sounding. But turbo are very audible at idle and putting are the parking lot. I like the Corsa system it's more money but you get what you pay for, there no cutting or welding. They use reflective noise cancel chambers instead of packing mufflers with glass.

I can't speak for the Corsa, since I can't get onboard with paying $1000+ for a catback exhaust system. There are other options that are cheaper that will get you the same benefit. You could pick up a couple mufflers, and have an exhaust shop bend/hang everything for close to half the cost of the Corsa.

Personally, I went the Dynomax axleback option. From Advanced Auto, with online coupons, I got it shipped to my door for about $170. Doesn't really add any power, but it certainly does give it more growl without being obnoxious.

I don't know what the Corsa sounds like inside while driving, I do know that hearing it go down the track did not thrill me.  Getting a V6 to sound good while being loud is a very hard combination.  To me the Corsa is raspy at WOT outside of the car.  I ended up with the Stainless Works system and have been very happy with it.  To many variables with dyno numbers and I think if you are spending the money for an exhaust be doing it for the sound.

I have run Corsa for a few months now. I can see where dark side is coming from, it can sound kinda raspy, but I think that is inherent with a V6. It is tough to make every aspect of that exhaust sound good. When starting from cold, it sounds kinda loud, as it warms up a little, it sounds quieter. I do not know how it sounds going down the strip, as I am always in the car, and there are louder cars there. But on the freeway, I do not notice anything obnoxious about the sound.

The reason I chose Corsa was because there is absolutely no drone. That was important to me. But I will say my wife does like the sound it puts out, compared to my 96 impala, or 454ss truck that had full exhaust from headers to tailpipes. I would chose it again. Hope that helps. I should have videos posted here through YouTube.

Lol! My wife is sleeping beside me and I don't want to wake her up. I watched a corsa exhaust sound on mute, which is supposed to be totally pointless! But I wanted to see the sandals and socks and my laugh woke her up lol!!!
