Data Logging using alternative hardware/software

has anyone tried datalogging using SCT X4/HP MPVI2/OBD 2 bluetooth + torque or other apps on no tune/tunes other than by that tuning device? If so what parameters do you log and were there any accuracy differences or discrepancies? Thanks!

are you wanting to datalog the stock tune? Guess I'm a little confused by the question

There will definitely an order of DATA difference between a dedicated tuning device and a combo of an OBD II adapter + Torque Pro.  Dedicated device are way faster. Accuracy I dunno.

I really prefer datalogging with hptuners over sct. Seems light-years ahead. Maybe dealer SCT is different. To me sct datalogging could be done on a Texas instruments calculator, while hptuners really feels at home on a modern laptop. Much more detail and configuration choices. Unfortunately I haven't found much information when it comes to Ford tuning, so I've been using GM forums and figuring out the similarities that way.

In the end it's up the user to decide what to use and which tuner supports their device. I have a livewire and also a mpvi2, as well as torque pro via obdlink.
I primarily use livewire for daily driving, mpvi2 for testing and learning, and torque pro for entertainment.

For 13+ we can tune both with HPT and SCT devices. Both have their advantages and disadvantages, but with R&D level access we have capabilities to modify every parameter in either program and even some we coded in ourselves.

FWIW, the datalogging software is the same whether you're a dealer or consumer in SCT Livelink.

I only use my laptop and Livelink to datalog my car.  I guess I just dont understand the Texa Instruments comment because the Livelink shows me every perimeter I am looking for, just like HPtuners.

I assume he's referring to his being a .csv file that LiveLink converts to a graph.

Both have their ups and downs for sure. Still prefer SCT on the SHOs
