Pipe going down to the rear turbo on my '14 SHO....

Brad reviewed my log, says I have a boost leak, im around sea level and car is acting like 6k elevation. I was poking around and it looks like this pipe is split on the seam

Hard to tell in that picture....is it really loose around the seam? Mine is tight.

It looks loose IMHO.!!  I think you can purchase a 1.5" To 2" Straight Turbo/Intercooler/Intake Piping Coupler Reducer Silicone Hose +T-bolts clamp. Z

theres no adjustment on the hard pipe to the flexy part, only thing down there I can tighten is that hose clamp, I should prob take this pipe off and inspect it if its not a huge PITA I may do that in a few minutes

So, I took that pipe off, and IDK how much boost my lungs create, but that pipe isn't leaking when I close off the different ends and blow hard on it LOL

What other areas should I check for a boost leak besides the pipe with the two BOVs on it?  I guess I'll have an opportunity to make sure the connections are tight when I put this pipe back on

Overclamped and cracked the plastic!?

In my opinion I'd drop a GoPro an record the sound.  It will whoosh like a mofo if there is aleak

put everything back together, and my neighbor came over and listened as I brake boosted it, he couldn't hear any leaks, this was after I put it back together and tightened the clamps down.  I used a tiny 1/4" socket to tighten those so I don't think i went nuts torquing it down. I'll log again and see whats up now that everything is reconnected

Mine actually split on the rubber bit, I couldn't see it until I folder it and then there was a little cut in it. Took me 2 months to find it and the reason I came out with hot pipes.
:)

Hot pipes from mike are never a bad idea and look nice.

Also check those bov's..a couple people here had them split....there is a leak somewhere...you can see wastegate duty sky rocket at high rpm in an attempt to maintain boost but boost still drops bad

that hard plastic ring, does that come off anyway besides breaking it? It looks like some sort of factory clamp, I can say that when I had the pipe off, I was able to push the factory hard plastic piping into and out of the rubber coupler slightly, but it still looked sealed

the factory BOVs weren't letting any air through when I did my small pressure test over here.  I'm going to see my guy tomorrow about some other car stuff, while im there i'll see if he can take a look. I couldn't easily get to the front turbo outlet either so maybe we can put it on the lift and look too

I found Pledge to do wonders on the HOTPIPES +BOV which works great on metal and more.  Z
