Dynomax mufflers anyone running ?

There's a big 20% off sale on autozone for the dynomax axle back and was wondering what everyone thought ? I hear of surface rust issues but that's nothing big a little header paint before install and that's never a problem . Lifetime warranty against defect which would be inner rust out for original purchaser. How's the sound ? Better then stock ? I'll be eliminating 3rd cat and resonator soon too

I think that's what's on mine.  I'll check.  It's loud, but I have the resonator still.... need to lose it.

I think many members have had negative results with the Dynomax (Walker) mufflers which are  susceptible to rust and the elements IIRC and would avoid IMO!  Z

Looks like the rust happens on exterior surface, nothing a coating of heat resistant paint can't fix. I called dynomax and the mufflers are under limited lifetime warranty for defect and rusting out to original purchaser. I'm just curious on people's experiences, may not do it but for 270 bucks shipped it's almost worth trying out

You think so? Hahaha let me know man

I have the axle back and I love it.  it does require cutting the existing mufflers off and the Dynomax clamp on in their place.  Measure 3x ,cut once.

I also have PPE Catted DP, but the Dynomax really added a nice deep rumble to the sound.  Def more and better sound than the stock setup and ended up just where I wanted it to be in terms of balance between tone and not being obnoxious or droning as a DD.

I got mine used for like $140shipped and have zero regrets.

How long have you had them any rust or signs of durability issue?

Mine drones pretty bad @~2k RPMs.

Which is why I want to lose the resonator.

If it is Dynomax I'll shoot a video tomorrow.

1.5-2yrs.  I do not recall exactly when I did it, but it was the spring after I got my car and I just hit the 2yr mark and they were used by prior owner for at least a year.  I have not been under the car in a while since it is parked outside and always raining in winter here.  I will try to take a peek this weekend if I get a chance.  I have had no issue with sound or durability that I have noticed and I tend to notice changes in my cars others do not.

Very cool

One caveat to my experience with this.  We do not get snow here, maybe one day a year and melted by next day. (aside from the pummeling we got 2 weeks ago, 10" overnight).  Because of that and the uber greenies out here, we do not use salt on roads either, so we do not get the toxic rust other areas do.  That said we get steady rain 9mos a year so def have the wet climate..  Just something to keep in mind.

FWIW Here's an (interior) Pic of the Hallow Shell remains of the Dynomax muffler! Simply trying to help a fellow member out and best of luck to ya. Z

Hahaha that's awesome , I'll be emailing and asking dynomax if this is qualified for sure under limited lifetime warranty cause that's defective for sure . I'll replace every time it does this for free they would go out of business

I had them on my last car (purchased MRT axle back for the 2013).  Sounds was okay but the tips quickly deteriorated in a MN winter so keep that in mind.

Here's a good question for you , besides quality cause I know MRT is much better quality . How's the sound difference between dyno Max and MRT?

If I recall they seemed pretty similar but I liked the MRT a little better.

Totally forgot to check.  Derp.  Been a long week.  Doesn't help that the car is off the road and I've been driving tube truck all week.

Haha all good

I forgot too.  Got lucky and it is not raining so snapped some picts just now.  These are over 3yrs old, daily driven, rain or shine every day.
