Easy Entry/Exit having a mind of it's own!?

Last year I had about 2-3 days where the Easy Entry/Exit feature turned itself on then I was unable to disable it in the menu.  It was just grey'd out.

Again today, This happened.  I hate this "feature" and even worse it's stuck on!!!  Anyone else have this problem? If so how did you remedy it?

Have you replaced the battery recently?  That would be a primary culprit in electrical glitches.  Next would be the seat module itself.

Easy Exit/Easy Entry

The easy entry/exit feature is a function of the DSM . When the ignition key is removed or for vehicles equipped with passive entry/passive start, when the button is pushed to turn the ignition off, the driver seat moves backward a maximum of 51 mm (2 in) or to the soft stop. The DSM receives a key out command over the MS-CAN communication network and powers the driver seat rearward. The DSM will cancel this operation if a valid input command is received from the driver seat control switch, memory SET switch, exterior mirror control switch or adjustable pedal control switch.

The DSM will record the current seat position before powering the seat for an easy exit function. This recorded position will be used to return the seat to this position on the easy entry operation. During easy entry operation, the seat is returned to the position previous to the easy exit operation when the key is inserted into the ignition lock cylinder or for vehicles equipped with passive entry/passive start, the ignition button is pressed. Easy entry operation will be cancelled if a valid input command is received by the DSM .

The easy entry/exit feature can be enabled/disabled using a scan tool. When enabled, the feature becomes a user accessible item on the message center allowing the user to turn the feature on and off. Refer to the Owner's Literature or Section 413-01 for information on the message center.

FWIW If there is no alternative you can try removing Fuse number 2 which is a Blue 15 amp under the dashboard to see if it helps any.  Z

No battery problems lately. Grrr. Maybe I'll just reset the damn thing. Efffing technology. i have been using Forscan on my truck. Might have to try it on the SHO and kill it

ok, let us know how it goes!  Tech has a dark side too!  More often than not, we are beta testers instead of recipients of finished product.

So just an update. After a few swear words at it and a few starts later when I was about to reset the battery the option came back on the display and now it's correctly "off".

Thing has a mind of it's own.

hah just posted the same thing. Cold seems to mess with the electronics especially when you hit the first day it goes nown 20f or below. It seems to resolve itself, especially after driving for a bit/warm motor heating up that ecu and inside heat heating up the other modules.

Mine still does this about once every few months.

Another re-occurring problem is that my sync will freeze and/or stop sending out sound.  Typically It requires a vehicle restart and a phone reboot.  It will seriously lock right the hell up.  Also it will freeze for 5-10 minutes then say the NAV card isn't responding and cuts off power to my phone being plugged in.

I've grown to love certain things about this car but the technology aspect of it is such a pain in the ass compared to my once simple Marauder with a Pioneer blue tooth Double DIN Deck.

My easy entry did the same thing a week before the battery died. It wouldn't start one very cold morning so I just got a new battery - didn't want to fight it all winter.

Time to get cozy with Sync 3 and Forscan :)

My new F-150 has that.  I LOVE IT.  Forscan has been awesome too.

Just wish I could figure out how to change the HEX in the SHO to set the steering at the non-pp assist level.  I'm sick of looking like a body builder from driving my SHO.

Does that happen when text messages come through by any chance?

That happens with texts on the Lincoln from time to time. No phone reboot needed, just a key cycle.

Varies things have caused it.  It'll lock up. Nothing will respond and the USB ports shut off.
