Engine Bay Hood lining

I seen a video on you tube where a fella removed the lining off of the hood, a cone like foam piece and the plastic that covers up the top of the engine
(cover that reads SHO), he claims that covering keeps the heat in what do you guys think about his theory? with removing those 3 will it keep the engine bay cooler because while you drive there is air going in through nose of the car?

The Silverado I was driving I feel has a thick engine cover I like how it keeps the heat from melting the snow on the hood so that if you warm up the vehicle before brushing the snow off you don't have to worry about ice

I leave the engine cover off in the summer but leave the hpfp on.  If you remove both you will hear the hpfp a lot more. The constant ticking is pretty noticeable.

If your not worried about water intrusion you can remove the weather strip at the top of the hood.

The coyote mustang uses the eact same foam on the fuel rails and its not to damping sound...the fuel going in is much cooler, so helps with radiant heat...fuel going into the hpfp is cool also
