Explorer Sport w/ Lund tune

thanks for timely input everyone!  I think I'll be happy w/ an Xsport replacing my 2001 durango hehe.  I haven't heard of unleashed, i'll have to check them out.

I'm not a mechanic, how hard is it to apply these tunes?  Is it a matter of plugging into a laptop?    any known tuner shops in MN??  thanks!

Well...
I was never really into going to the track. (I have never been before) But a friend talked me into it, and I will be making some 1/4 runs with my Xsport this spring and maybe in summer if I have fun..

Way cool BMC... Gonna find out what our mutual bad habit did for your ride!  :P

Torrie and LMS seem the most interested in the  EB line to me.  I picked LMS because they were local. If I lived in Florida, I would have gone with Torrie. Maybe Lund will become a major player too....but at this point the 0 Caused catastrophic failure rate of Livernois and unleashed speak volumes to me .  if lund eventually does the kind of volume of those two across the Eco Boost line,  it will be nice to have a third viable option. The only other alternative out there that I am aware of is Hennessy and I think most agree that is not really a good option.

I know LMS really does control the market share and I can't say much about Unleashed because they are relatively unknown to me.  While Lund is pretty new to the EB market they have been tuning huge power TT and Supercharged mustangs as well as a lot of other custom tunes for quite a bit and their numbers are some of the most impressive out there.

I decided it was worth taking a chance on them and overall have been pretty happy, just wish that SS tune would come out, but speaking of the devil, they responded to my email today so at least I  know they are still alive over there! An ETA of soon is still better than an ETA of never.

One thing I really liked is that Ken over at Lund drives a Sport as a daily driver so stability and driveability is high on his list, and the fact that he's going to keep working on evolving it until he's happy!

Sounds like your all set then..
That is also a big reason I chose LMS.. Their shop truck is an Xsport.
So everything they put out is extensive dyno tested and daily driven..
It's a little piece if mind.... I hope.. Lol

According to Lund's website there tunes are only available on a handfull of Ford products .

$250.00 for major tune revisions even octane changes ?  OUCH ! !

Neither Unleashed or Livernois charge anything for any tune revisions when you buy a tuning device from them
.

Torrie , the owner and Tune " artist " at Unleashed has a SHO , Focus ST and a Dodge Viper , all with aggressive tunes .

They provide extensive Tuning options for Many Ford , Dodge and GM vehicles .

Most of the pricing stuff on their website is for custom tunes.  The sport comes with 91/93/ and SS once it's released with no charge.  Don't know what will be included/charged for special requests since they haven't even required/pushed the 3 bar yet.

I don't mean for any of this to be a Lund vs. LMS vs. Unleashed showdown, this was just a post I had started so that anyone who wanted to shop around could do so as I'm sure plenty of people love their tunes from LMS and Unleashed.

The point I was intending to make was that once you are a customer of Unleashed and I am fairly certain Livernois , that you are charged $0.00 for Custom Tunes ...

I'm pretty sure that includes datalog tunes also.

Since my car spends 99.99999% of its life on the street and not on the dyno, I find this very useful.
