Finally got my '14 in the 12's

Dam nice time! Why are you running thru the water box? I ask because, the lowest ET guys out there avoid them. Cause it hurts their traction. I have never personally tried, so I cant say if helps or hurts my times.

I NEVER go through the water box! Your right, that's just asking for spinning. What you didn't get to see is me drive around it and then back up. I back up so I can hit the tires a little harder so I hopefully get them a bit more tacky and not roll through the lights.

Good observation. I've heard of people with treaded tires being given warnings not to do it again or leave. Even see rear wheel drive with slicks go around box then back into it, I'm guessing this is to not take water up to the line with the fronts.

Oops my bad, I guess that was just a assumption on my part. I was thinking how the hell can you run a 12.2 and go thru water box. I'd just sit and spin and the car would shut down and be luck to pull a mid 13 if I did that. If I didn't break anything. I work 60hrs this week I guess I am not running on all cylinders. LOL!

Well I am glad I got that right, didn't want to come off sounding like a jerk. Just thought maybe you knew something I didn't know. Its obvious now, I wasn't thinking period.

😂😂😂 its all good! I really wish I could do a burn out though, if I could really heat these tires up...look out!

I've tried a E Brake burnout before. Works fine on the street, if done correctly. But at the track it sounded like the engine banged against the firewall. So I don't do it anymore, but stiffer engine mounts would be helpful.

That's a good heads up. The motor mounts do seem pretty squishy. Maybe we should see if mike can help us with that too.

Asked Torrie if a little extra shot of ethanol would push you into the 11's?  :D
Lol, read my mind...

I could put in some 102 with the meth and turn up the timing more...maybe next season. Tomorrows the last race for me.

Thanks for the comments. Not looking for any home runs, just base hits. Next target is 12.1x, after that, 12.0x and so on. She'll be in the 11's one of these days...I think. 😜

Well, it wasn't in the cards today boys.  Looks like the combination of the tune changes torrie and I made and a little slicker track made for 3 terrible passes where it spun so hard that it wouldn't complete the 1-2 and or the 2-3 shift.

Looks like I will be investing in some drag only front wheels and tires for next season.

How are you doing this without destroying the awd system?
