Finally took the 2.0 to the track

Actually this is my second trip up to New England Dragway street night. I went last week as well but it was a stock Unleashed tune without the FMIC installed. This week I got an updated tune from Torrie and that sweet Levels FMIC installed. Little 2.0 hauled me (all 3995 lbs) to 14.346@93.16 with a 1.999 60'. Wheel hopping like mad for the first 30-40' even with tire pressure at 30PSI. might need to wait for coilovers before i will be able to stick a launch.

Pretty impressed with the stock turbo. Should see some nice results next season when I finally get a larger turbo on and some more fuel.

Not bad!  Assuming track prep was good, you may want to lower tire pressures even further, maybe to 27 psi.  Also the boost launch rpm limit will drop with a tune, so you have to figure out the best rpm for your EB.  Most people find it around 2000 rpm for the 3.5 EB, but there are some outliers.  Are you on stock tires still, what are they?

Coilovers would definitely be good, as would adjustable sway bar links, but abovementioned items still persist.

Thanks!

I find power braking to 2500 seems to be near the sweet spot, even though I hop a lot it still gets the best ET's. I can trap higher with a softer launch but the ET is terrible. I feel like I can get the car into the 14.2's with the current setup if I just get it to launch clean. I am also still running fully loaded, backseat, spare, jack and all since I am still dialing it in.

I am running OZ Racing Leggera HLT's 18x8 40mm wrapped with Toyo Proxes 4 Plus PX4+ 235x45R18 98W. I am def going to try 27-28lbs next time.

I have a rear sway bar with whiteline adjustable endlinks waiting to go on, was not sure they would help with hooking up. What kind of adjustments can I do with end links to hook better? (DISCLAIMER: Have never done suspension before, the coilovers and sway bar will be my first foray ever)

Thanks, I really hope so! Fastest 2nd gen I know hit a 13.8 with less going on. Just gotta learn to drive.

I wanted a place to keep track of all the tech articles and reviews I have been doing so its easier find the pages when someone asks about something. I work in the industry so I actually had IPB licenses just sitting unused!

If some fusion folks want to add stuff they are certainly welcome!

Just curious why you need more fuel?

It appears the 2.0 uses the same HPFP and injectors the 3.5 does but has to feed 2 less cylinders.

I'm running a hot E20 tune with 16-17 psi and have zero loss of frp, never goes under 2000 psi and peaks at 26-2700 . It doesn't matter if it is a multi gear WOT pull or from 3rd starting at 1500 RPM, full pressure is always there when needed.

Interesting, my understanding so far has been if I wish to run higher boost then secondary fueling will become a given just for the cooling properties.

If I don't need to then that cuts about 1k off the list of parts for next season. I will research more for sure, thanks for the tip!

You have the SCT, so you can monitor fuel pressures, low and hi sides.  Can also do it sufficiently well in Torque Pro, but of course SCT will be more accurate.  Then you will know if you are running out of fuel.  Or you could just ask Torrie :)

Another green fusion, that is something we could look at but I'm with FOMOCO. Even if you hit 300whp I don't see why the fuel pressure would be a problem

You've got an upgraded FMIC, that should be much better at keeping IAT2 in check than the inefficient setup on the 3.5.

If you're looking for more octane and in cylinder cooling, you can always add some E-85 to your fuel if available in your area.

Thank you for the info everyone, I won't worry about additional fuel unless I want to push even faster with the bigger turbo.

Grabbed a new PB for the car.

Tonight my PB slip had PBs for 60', 1/8th, 1000' and ET. Not a bad night but still have more to do.

No good R/Ts this time, was way too focused on figuring out the launch.

Ambient temp of 80-83*F and Humidity of about 36%. No VHT, people were spitting rubber all night.

The gf demanded a pic of me and the car, considering all the time I have spent and all the places I have dragged her I consider this part her project anyway. She is entirely too kind to me.

Nice going :thumb:  Your car looks way too good to have numbers scrawled on :) but that's a price to pay for the track LOL!

Thanks! Ford made these things really stylish, I want to change the looks some but at the same time I have a tough time messing with what looks so good already.

Nice, how many revisions have you done with Torrie? I bet you can see 13's.

I am actually only on my 3rd revision so far (soon to be 4th once I get these logs over). Torrie asked for WOT through all the gears for my car. Only place I can do that reasonably is at the track and even then I just barely get into 5th before crossing the line.

I hear it can take 15 or even more revisions before things really get dialed in. Hopefully I have enough time to get it all dialed in before the season is out as I would really love to see a 13 out of this car before the season is over.
