Finished Platsti-Dipped Chome

After several weeks and finally getting enough free time to work on my car, thought I would post some finished photo after a nice waxing along with my new plasti-dipped chrome.  Enjoy! ;D

Also, after dipping my fender emblems, I noticed the driver side and curb side ones are different for me, if you look at one, the diamonds are smooth, while the other side has a texture to them.  This isn't from the dip and was like that before hand, so I'm not quite sure what is going on.  :- They are both shown in the last two photos.

Nice!!  I need to do this before the mag chloride hits the streets.  That stuff just kills chrome, brown spots you can't remove.

How many cans did you need?

:thumb: :thumb:Nice touch, gives it a sportier more aggressive appeal, wish all the chrome moulding throughout the vehicle were black like the two pieces of moulding on the rooftop.? :pat: :pat:

Maybe a Braille methodology for telling driver vs passenger side parts?

Do you work downtown Des Moines? I think I may see you occasionally coming in. I drive in from Elkhart - Blk 2012 SHO...Nice look!!!

Thanks for all the positive feed back everyone!

I ended up using just over 2 cans, giving about 3-4 coats of matte black only.  Although I did end up re-doing the front and rear ends once each due to a bad turn out, so if everything goes well in one shot you might get by with just 2.

Yep, I do work near downtown, I come in from Ankeny.  Just moved to the area a few months ago.  I'll keep a look out for you then!  Although I have a hard time spotting the 10-12 SHO's :P

Looks good, nice work!  Did you pull the pieces off, buy an extra set?

Thanks.

Just look for the spoiler on the trunk lid, 98% give away it's a SHO.  I agree, the 10-12's are harder to spot.

Mine will be the black one flying by you :) Will keep my eye open, there are a few SHO's in the Ankeny area, another black, a red and a white that I see fairly often.

How hard is it to get the window trim off? I like to do this. But don't want to tear stuff up.
Most of the posts about removing it explain about bending it and replacing it...

That's what I was thinking.  Since my car is silver having the chrome doesn't look so bad.

Being it is plasti-dip, I didn't remove any trim. Just taped off the area, sprayed, and peeled off the extra. Was good enough for me at least.
