First 2016/17 Taurus Spy shots

Hey guys, yesterday was at friend house in allen park Michigan which by the way is very close to dearborn. I saw what I believe is the next in carnation of the taurus on the road, only the front facia was in disguise. Unfortunately I do not have any photo's to share, its looks where that of a larger fusion. Which I find disappointing, hoping its only a test mule and the end product will look different.

With the previous track record on the SHO lineup, hideous gen 3 SHO, who knows what's in store.

Note to Ford: Don't "F" this up!!!

IMO the Fusion is a better looking car then the regular Taurus. Personally I'd like something a little smaller then the curret SHO. A Fusion ST would be the ticket for my next car.

Here is a question for ya, since you have possibly seen the mule. Does it look like the 3.5 EB will fit in the bay? In other words did the hood look as long and wide as the current SHO?

I would think so, hood was pretty long. The car had dual exhaust, maybe a indicator of a V6? But take on it and got a pretty good look at it as it drove by my buddies house. Just looked like a big fusion. I will never understand why Ford chooses to design and build cars this way. In stead building cars and models that have their own styling cues.

Its to help build brand identity. Everyone else does it also...**** Ford has been doing it since the 1980s...the Mustang, Thunderbird and Taurus all had similar headlights and they where identical on the Mustang and T-bird.

As for the 3.5L Ecoboost being in the next car...I have a feeling it won't have it, instead we'll see the 2.7L Ecoboost V6 in the car to help save weight. The 2.7L EB offers nearly the same HP as the 3.5 and has more torque stock...and should be a stronger engine with it being made out of CGI instead of aluminum or iron...its the same stuff they use on Diesel engines. Plus it should offer better MPG numbers also.

They took out the shifter in favor of a dial?  I KNOW I'm not the only person who drives with my hand on the shifter a lot.

dal- for sure. my friend with a durango r/t has that dial, hate it but it's worst feature which thank god you can turn off, which he didn't so he could have some fun with me,  is some female voice telling you're going over the speed limit. he couldn't take if anymore either & after breakfast we got out the manual & shut her up for good.
