"Ford has issued a half dozen recall campaigns, affecting more than 100,000 vehicles.

Most of the vehicles were built with a driveshaft that is prone to failure, causing potential loss of power while driving or a rollaway when parked.

The issue affects approximately 92,000 vehicles, including the 2013-2014 Ford Taurus, Police Interceptor and Flex; the 2013-2014 Lincoln MKS and MKT; the 2012-2014 Ford Edge, and the 2012-2014 Lincoln MKX.

I meant to post earlier in the week, but I got busy.

My mate showed me the "Ford" documents saying "Hey, we're going to issue a recall" and on it was a TON of parts on front end of the car. We were ordering hubs because of that annoying clicking I have, however he decided not to because of this. It was basically check everything; if it fails; replace it. The whole front end was a part of the recall; hubs, shafts, nuts, bolts, etc.

How soon will they start doing these recalls?  Wonder if parts are already made.

Just talked to my dealer, mine goes in Thursday to be "inspected".  From what he told me, atleast on my '14, they are looking for the right hand front half shaft being fully inserted in the "intermediate shaft" (PTU?) if it is not fully inserted to install new half shaft.

Looks like between October 13 and December 13 is the cut off as I had a dec build car that I looked at and it didn't have the recall.

I'll be under my car tonight....

So it's the axle on recall, not the driveshaft, right?  The driveshaft connects the rear wheels to the front via the PTU.

Here is the text from the owner.ford.com/:

Title: RIGHT-HAND FRONT HALFSHAFT RETENTION INSPECTION / REPAIR

This is what happened on my car. The right front axle shaft came off of the intermediate shaft allowing my engine to rev freely as my car rolled to a stop. I posted a tread a few months ago on here. I'll look for the thread and post an update. I have photos and videos of what happened so you will know what to look for.

I'm sorry. The video links are not working for me on that thread. I will post the video later tonight of the intermediate shaft spinning inside the axle shaft so everyone will know exactly what to look for.

I'd really appreciate that. Since my dealer I trust is 100 miles away I want to make sure it needs to be done. My Vin brings up the recall so it needs to be looked at at least.  I just don't trust my local dealer since last time they tired to void my extended warranty since I had a boost gauge installed.

Yup, called my dealer today and I'm taking mine in next week. I would rater not have my shaft fall out while I'm driving.
