Hello all,

A good friend from the www.fordflex.net forum is selling his gorgeous Falken FK RT7M wheels, along with 265/35-22 Falken tires.  I'm posting for him because I don't think he's yet a member, but this is a great deal and I trust that he's legit.

His price is incredible, he's at $700 for the set, and they are minty by what I understand.  He's locating in La Grange, TX for reference.

These should be the 22x8.5 size in a +35 offset, which should fit the SHO and of course fits the Flex.  With the tires that are currently on it, those will also both work.  For the Explorer, the wheel should work but the tire would be a little small.

These wheels should be quite light for their size, and the dark look compliments very well.  We have another member rocking them here http://www.fordflex.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=9009

If interested, definitely ping him

Damn! not far from me.  Hadn't really considered a rim upgrade, but for $700 I might have to jump on that.

Lanson,

Is there any chance that he's into car audio? Asking, because I know that you are.

I've got a new in the box, only pulled out to drool over Digital Designs M3B I'd be willing to trade him, plus I'd add a little cash, say $100 if he's interested.  I bought it when I bought my Limited Taurus before I got the 'go fast' bug and traded it in for the SHO.  If he's down, I'd be out there this weekend to pick them up from him.

Well PJC is definitely into car audio as he was one of the very few to do custom audio upgrades.  He went a different path than me, but spent a great deal of effort getting the dash retrofitted with an aftermarket deck.  I'd say he's got moxy for doing audio.

I see your post over there, hope that goes well.  It looks like a wonderful amp.

Thanks for posting this Lanson. These are my wheels. I'd love to sell them locally. Not looking for much more audio as I just cleaned out my entire stash. Feel free to text me at 979 nine six six 3831.

^^^ your not too far away. I'll go as far as Austin if that helps ya :). I would do a possible trade for the wife, but mine wouldn't like that.

I'm not exactly local, but I'm in Fort Worth. Hmmmm...

If it makes you feel better, you could probably turn around and sell your stock wheels, and end up with equal or possibly even MORE money.

OR, use the logic with the wife that this is a new set of tires (pretty much), so your wheels and tires go unused, undamaged so when you sell your car, you put them back on (then sell these and make money again), and you have a higher trade value.

Another angle is you can now put a full-size wheel and tire in the car as a true spare.

There are so many ways to look at this.  I've never regretted upgrading.

Certainly no problem affording them. But, just out of a pretty pricey European vacation, she is in frugal mode (she's frugal by nature anyway). And this is a woman...
I don't bother arguing logic anymore with her.
Anyway, money matters aside, I don't think I'll sell my OE flower wheels. Last time I sold a set of stockers, I regretted the hell out of it.
Also, I don't see too many running 22's on the SHO. I guess Fitment is similar between the SHO and Flex?

Meeting in Austin is very fair.
I'll have to think about it, though. Trying to decide if I feel like begging for forgiveness.

For a visual aid, the 22" tire size is what H&R's SHO used before they stepped to a staggered 20" setup using BBS LM ($$$$$) wheels.  Here's pics

Now the fitment of these vs. those O.Z. wheels on the H&R SHO are going to be similar, relative to the front wheels.  In the case of the H&R SHO, they used 22x9 all around but a much wider offset and lip pattern in the rear, so it appears staggered.  I did a similar thing with my Flex but did 22x9 front, 22x10 rear.  In those cases, the 265/35-22 tire size is used.

Now here's another SHO I found, also using 265/35-22 and approximately the same wheel width and offset

This size is also a favorite of the Chrysler 300 guys.

According to this http://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp which is my favorite calculator,

the 245/45-20 stock size is 28.7", and the 265/35-22 size is 29.3", so that's a difference of 2.3%  Compared with what some people on this site use when they run their tires out, which is a 255/45-20, the difference is extremely small.  This is probably why H&R chose this tire size for their own build.  It works out pretty well!

It could rub but I doubt it will.  The wheel width and offset are not aggressive, so everything should stay tucked in the wheel wells.  If you wanted to be spot-on all around, a minor spacer of about ~10mm for the rear would make things even better, but that's being picky.

Most definitely will post pics. Out of town until next weekend, but will post pics as soon as I get them bolted up.

The plan is to throw them on next weekend and then drop it on H&Rs next month.
