Fuel Pump Module Recall - Has anyone done it?

What was the process? How long did it take?  Did they re-flash your ECU?

It sounds like a PITA for a simple module you can replace yourself.

I have a 2013 Flex that is not starting due to this module.

My car is dead in my driveway... will they let you do it yourself?

It may depend on your dealer but when I couldn't get a quick appointment, I bought and replaced the module myself. The dealer later reimbursed me for the part. They still wanted me to come in to check if it was installed.

I put one in a buddy's MKS about 6 months back.  It wasn't part of the recall, so he had to buy the part from Ford and give it to me to install.  Not sure about the Flex, but it's a pretty simple job for the MKS.  Just remove the rear seat (it's right behind the rear seat on the passenger side), unplug, remove a couple screws, and plug in a new one.  No need to flash the ECU when done.  Once the new ones in, problem's fixed.

Took me about an hour and most of that was figuring out how to remove the seat.  I could probably do it again in a half hour.  Not really a big deal.

Removed module and brought it to Ford parts department.

Purchased part and requested warranty refund from service department.

Recall completed...

Easier than giving them the car for a day. :)
