Gearhead Turbos Received!

I agree that boost is not everything.  18.2 boost at that power level?  That's very impressive to me as that is lower than I would have guessed.  Well within efficiency level?

Yep mire left in it but want to to keep stock rods in the block.

You have mentioned before I believe that your upgraded turbos are perfect for our engines without doing a built motor.  Based on what you have just explained I would be inclined to believe your turbos can also support a built motor?

Yes I am trying to stay around 500 torque to the tires.  I could easily generate enough power to kink them.... LOL

Outstanding!  Bravo and thank you for putting the time and money into the development of this forgotten platform!  Much much appreciated!

I think for many of us its not a matter of if we buy these, its only a matter of when.

Here is the recommended replacement hardware parts list for the Gearhead turbos. You don’t HAVE to replace these... but highly recommended!! This was ordered through Tasca.

Just a note to anyone whom is doing future turbo r&r should get the MAHLE gasket kits.
P/N# GS33733 and GS33734.
left and right.

Comes with:

1x Turbo to manifold Gasket
1x Turbo to Down pipe Gasket
2x Aluminum Coolant line gaskets
1x Copper oil line inlet gasket
2x Rubber oil drain tube to block O-rings
1x Turbo to oil drain tube gasket
    -Per Kit
Price range Rock Auto to eBay is 27.99 to 32.99 per kit.

This is my second time using these kits. Oh and SBS, you require 2 turbo pipe O-rings per side. 4 total. Each drain tube has 2 where is slides into the block. Unless those are packs of 2 on your list.

I’m basing this off what Gearhead sent me.

If there is other stuff I need to order let me know....

I didn’t order any copper stuff since it wasn’t on the list.

I edited the part numbers and added the Rock Auto screenshot. The copper washers are for the oil line going into the top of the turbo. The 2 aluminum washers are for the coolant in and outlet lines. Seems like they would have you replace everything unless the oil inlet line is already attached.

Big shout out to MrHighCaliber for the quick responses...

Here is the finalized order from Tasca for the required washers/gaskets/bolts/nuts for a turbo replacement. If this is for a failed turbo/engine you will also need to replace quite a few more parts. This is for a rip and replace for turbo upgrades.

MrHighCaliber said that MAHLE is also an OEM supplier so the Ford Parts could be MAHLE but otherwise they are listed at OEE.

The only difference in parts between the MAHLE kit and the parts order I placed is that I am also ordering new nuts/bolts in the even there is an issue. This is from TASCA so the parts are OEM.
