Got my kit (DONE) today

Unpacked it. Wow that's a lot of stuff. I ordered direct from ALKY. The first thing I'm noticing different is (what I think anyway) the 3bar. It's a double stacked module with 3 wires and a vacuum hose? Julio said he uses a gm 3bar. It definitely doesn't look like it's going to replace anything just add to?  Is that gonna work? I am just laying it out rite now to see how it all works

Can I post pictures to a thread with my ipad?

No that won't replace anything, and don't know why you would need it. I mean I know what its for and its purpose. But my system make use of taping the cars factory MAP signal wire. All I can assume this is a universal kit, not worry you could still make use of. But not necessary. But you will still need a factory bar 3 MAP as I believe it is a require piece to have for the tuning.

Hmm. The 3bar I need replaces the existing one, then I tap into it from the relay? I don't know what the one they sent me is for. Don't think I want two 3bars?
Where can I get the rite one, is there a part number that I can use to just pick it up at the ford store?

You either use one or the other if you use bpd's tap you can't use Alky box. I use both(bpd HOW-TO didn't have ALKY box and ALKY paperwork has no 3bar tap) and when I got to LMS it cost me $400 in labor to find out you don't use both.

The kit I got from Julio at ALKY is the one they provide to LMS. I think they used to use that add on 3bar. Im going to not use the one in the kit and just pick one up from my ford store.
#CX-2231  /  AA5Z-9F479-B  . The most i could find out from the store is that part is the one that go's on the leading part of the intake on 2013 SHO. So from all my reading it sounds rite? The first map is a 3bar?

There are two, 2bar MapV sensors. One is located on the hard plastic intake piping, pre-throttle body. The 2nd one is located directly atop the intake plenum. This/that is the one you want to swap out (with the new 3bar Mapv sensor). The one directly atop the intake.

You will absolutely need to install this if you're installing the methanol kit.

LMS does recommend installing the 3bar for some of their more aggressive tunes, along with the lower temp, 170 thermo. This, regardless whether you're doing Meth, or not.

I don't know what this secondary "box" is that you're talking about. A pic perhaps would help, as the one shoman04 put up isn't really clear as to wth anyone's looking at under there.

By the way you're describing it, it almost sounds like the same sensor I used for my boost gauge, as you're indicating it has the 3 wires, and the air line attachment. :dunno:

No sure of the part number for the bar3 map, there have bee multiple posts on this subject. However unleashed tuning and LMS sell them. I wouldn't use Alkycontrol MAP sensor there is no need for it, however perhaps Julio can give you credit for it return. Does his kit include a check valve? If not I highly recommend. I assume you have look at the many how to's on this subject, very helpful and BPD's is very detailed. But be sure if you go else where to order a bar 3 map that is a bar 3. From my understanding and could be wrong the one next throttle body is a bar 3. And if a correct this the one you will buy and replace the one on top of intake manifold.

A little off topic, but does anyone know if the finer control info offered by the 3 bar sensor offers any potential performance benefit or detriment in the absence of meth or nitro?

IIRC, the car will not run very well if it's not tuned for the 3 Bar.

A clear pic of ALKY's 3bar box.

ALKY 3 bar map is the black box with the blk/gre/red wire and black air holes.

There is no performance gains just by adding a bar 3 map. It's nothing more than pressure sensor.

Proper Ford Part No. for the 3bar is:

AA5Z-9F479-B

So when, actually if, I add meth, should I use Ford's 3bar or LMS's? Or are they the same thing?  I'm of the opinion that all things being equal, the part made by Ford for Ford is always the best route. But I would still like some opinions.

I have a sensor waiting for me at my ford store #CX-2231  /  AA5Z-9F479-B sounds like it?
ALKY  kit from Julio looks nice - two piece ss braid, goes from pump to brass filter then to check valve and nozzle , some kind of fabric braid from tank to pump

One thing though, the nozzle says m15 on the side. Is that a size 15 I thought I needed a 10?

Guess I need a meth tune? I have DP'S coming but the meth will be in first. Do I get a meth tune from LMS and install it with the kit and just add the DP'S?

Installing today, would like to understand wiring better. Could I get help answering the ????? and confirm the ones with no ???.  Just so it make sense in my brain anyway. I keep reading through the threads and go " what did he say here" and " where was that"
Maybe a clear wire by wire layout would help future meth USERS / maybe add it to bpd's how to. For a loser like me anyway (probably rewrite it of course)

PUMP three wires
1. Red / to PAC red / one of the three individual PAC wires
2. Black / to PAC black / one of the three individual PAC wires
3. Bare / to PAC wht / one of the three individual PAC wires. ?????????

RELAY four wires
1. Lg, red from shunt with bolt fitting crimped on / to battery poss term. ????????
2. Red on relay, 12g and long / to PAC org (fused)12g / one of a two wire harness. ???????
3. Gray / to fuse box / year specific / 2013 sho. ???????
4. Black / ground to chassis

PAC seven wires remaining
(( six wire harness. ))
1. Green / to 3bar map
2. Brown / to LED brown. ???????
3. Orange / to LED red.  ???????
4. Red / to Acc, where.  ??????
5. Violet / aux input ( not going to use).  ????
6. Gray / aux input ( not going to use).  ????

(( two wire harness )). One wire remaining
1. Black / ground to chassis

No schematic with your kit?
YES NO SCHEMATIC. Well not very clear one from AKLY (VERY GENERAL). Not one with bpd. How-To! I'm a Electrician and I plan to do a better schematic but haven't had the time. Sorry!!
