Smallish white tail out of the corn, no chance to zig zag around this one.

Now question time. What do i need to be looking for with the insurance company. Obviously 3/4 of the pretty stuff in front is f’d but what else could be f’d. Intercooler, fans, cooling system etc..

I havent looked really good yet as i hit the deer on my way to work, had to get to work so i cant look till in the AM.

I drove it the 3 miles back home and it seems to drive fine, straight and no noises i could hear.

I doubt its totalled, unless the unibody is tweeked but, it seems to drive fine.

Thankfully no one was injured during this incident besides that poor little baby deer!

It doesn't look that bad IMO but seen racoons do more extensive damage but @ this point its still @ its early stages.
Need to check the inside structure of the engine bay to see if any extensive damage is eminent such as the CAC (intercooler) and radiator is damaged. Intake plus snorkel is probably screwed up plus Battery.
What worries me is those potential hidden gremlins that lurk inside .....
Check the coolant levels!  Or any signs of leaks . Best of luck.  Z

:o :o :o Glad you are ok.  Damage is hopefully just hood and panels, but cracks won't show till hood is opened.  Also at the least any sensors located in the area, fuse box, battery, air box.  Cracking of parts is more insidious than outright breakage, so listening to how your SHO sounds can tell you if further issues exist or not.

Thx guys. Yup no injuiries at all.
But on that note i forgot something (it was late and i was/still am at work).
Upon impact there was a loud pop and the cabin filled with white smoke and kinda smelled like sulphur. I immidiatly figured an air bag popped off but non did, or at least non inflated. Like a dumass i didnt think to locate where the smoke was coming from untill it wasnt coming out any more. The emergency lights turned on by themself also.

Is there some system in the seat belt that works on an air bag charge? Like something to take the slack out?

there IS a detonator in the seatbelt tensioner.  Could be it.  Don't know if it creates smoke or if it smells, I am sure it would.  If the seatbelt did not automatically tighten, IDK.

Aptly named user name. LOL.

Too soon? Ha!

Appears mostly cosmetic from the pics posted. Good luck with repair(s).

Yeah,
My current (and former) stable would agree with that statement. Lofl.

Thats probly it then. When i went to put the seatbelt on to drive her home it gave some pretty good resistance to uncoil it.
My back didnt come far off the seat on impact, if at all.

I certainly can relate to your handle, Good luck with the Fix
and Hope your insurance Company Does not give u any Problems

I Just wasted a Front Wheel on my bike (LARGE Pothole) bent it way up
and Flattened the front tire, Rode it home on the Rim (about 3/4 of a Mile)
Insurance was of little Help (500 DED), ODOT, and Local City also, Took
em 2 Weeks to fill that 10" Hole, after they kept blaming each other as who
is responsable for Maintenance on that Ramp... I give up >:(

Motorcycle wheels are rediculously expensive. To go along with my screen name. I changed the tires on my cbr using bicycle sized spoons. By the end of the operation i had marred up the lip on the front wheel so bad it wouldnt hold air overnight.  Lol. Luckily breaking the bead again and rotating the tire made it have only a very slow leak. Next change im going to need to remember to sand that spot flat.

So
$7k in damage.
All the shiny parts. Plus the intercooler, oil cooler and ac compressor.
I figured just the shiny stuff would be around 6-7k.

Apparently the radiator was fine.

The intercooler radiator has me worried though wondering if they checked the charge pipes good.

However i did get a 18 f150 crew cab, 3.5 eco as a loaner. Pretty nice truck.

These cars have fragile front ends.  I slid off the road into a snow drift at about 25mph.  Ended up doing $4,500 in damages.  Sorry about your troubles.  At least you're OK.

Thanks. I was actually expecting more damage. Grilled the deer hard and almost dead center.

Shes still at the shop. :(

I should go check on her. The shop is 30 miles away and i am always scraping time so there is a hard spot there. It sucks but it is what it is.

Did they give you a rough estimate (ETA)! I guess you don't want to rush them either! I hope it meets & exceeds your expectations!  Z

They said it would be done around the first of the month. Apparently the longest part of the peocess is waiting for the parts from Ford.

I did research the shop via the local mechs and gearheads. Everyone said that the shop is the best in the area. The area is pretty remote though.

So you are saying in a race the shop would be first AND dead last :P  J/K.  Hope they do a great job and deliver quick.

Sadly, yes. Lols
Always guaranteed a podium spot. Haha

In the meantime i am enjoying the eb f150. One thing i noticed/can make repeat is that when cold the truck falls on its face on the 4-5 shift. Just like you turned the motor off, then it sputters for a second and runs fine. Wierd, truck has less than 3k miles.
