Headliner buzz by headliner

I tried putting pressure on the rails. No difference. The rattle is coming from above where the visor sits, so would that be part of the visor assembly?

If you have a sunroof try finger pressure on the rails... I had this loose and it was hard to localize.

Where was this exactly? I have this exact same noise that is intermittent and it is driving me nuts at times! I recently located another annoying rattle which ended up being the plastic cap behind the interior door handle. It was slightly popped out and I simply pressed it in, 6 months of annoying rattling gone!

It occurs intermittently... pressure on the passenger side of the rail near the front will quiet it... fairly gentle pressure applied to the metal rail... Not willing to take my headliner down to try permanent fix though.

I had a similar issue that was a quick fix. pin point the rattling best you can by having your bass up and push up on the headliner to see if it stops the noise . mine was by the HSH (holy sh** handle) of the passenger side. I used a hard thick sponge and cut up small squares put some double sided tape on one end and put it between the roof and the headliner Via the sunroof opening . Pull the headliner down a bit and put your hand in there, if you have any capable little ones around it helps so you don't have to pull your headliner down to far try that for a quick fix if that doesn't work, not sure

I had this too. Dealer fixed it within the timeframe of an oil change. It hasn't returned.

For me the rattle was the headliner between the sunroof and windshield. Where the glasses pocket is.

dealer finally fixed it when they fix the sunroof leak. They took the whole headliner down and reseated it using new adhesive retainers. Seems to have fixed the problem.

Thats good news.  When I explained it to the service tech, he made it seem like this was fairly common with the Taurus.  Perhaps its across all models, with the sun roof option.  I dont know the details, and it sounds like you were able to get more out of them for what the fix is.  I would like to mention that since the rattle was fixed, it has yet to return.

I have a few rattles that are slowly driving me crazy and it only happens every now and then. The bitch of the bunch is the one coming from my instrument cluster. As much as I hate it silicon spray is the only thing that will temporarily fix the problem.

I have a 13 also,my rattle was coming from the steering column, which is made out of really thin plastic and noticed it coming apart, besides that its pretty quiet considering the bad roads we have here.
