Help me pick exhaust

I've boiled it down to the following, in no particular order:

1) Corsa
Pros - Good sound and the absence of the resonator. Seems to be a popular choice.
Cons - Most expensive option.

2) Borla
Pros - I really like the sound. Closest in my opinion to a V8 sound. Good price.
Cons - Resonator and can't be found on Borla's site.

3) Magnaflow
Pros - I had Magnaflow on my mustang and f150. Was happy with them.
Cons - Resonator, very quiet, and doesn't seem to be a popular option.

4) Stainless Works
Pros - Best price, but not by much.
Cons - Not super crazy about the sound. I think it does sound good, but when letting off the throttle you get that 'spitting' sound that I don't like. It doesn't sound as clean as the rest.

I am getting PPE catted DP's from Eco power to go along with whatever set up I get. I live in IL so I need the cats to pass emissions. Any other options I missed?  Thanks.

I'd do your downpipes first then decide from there. That seems to be the best performance gains and adds sound. I'd probablt be likely to do catless downpipes and Borla for the best power and still quiet sound with a nice sound too.

guys, it used to be on summit's site but not there any more. part# when i got mine was 140337. but if you go the borla way call them to make sure part# hasn't changed or if they'll even do it anymore. as i said it took me 6 weeks to get them. the good part was no fit issues & they shipped them right on time. the one thing even better than pic was the letters borla where raised on tips, gives them a real finished look plus good advertising & brad stl has emission. jun will be final tested for catted ppe's, but have never thrown any codes, so my guy says i'll be good. still holding my breath, but taking to a local shop that's not the dealer, so if they look doubt they'll think anything but stock.

I have a set of Borla pipes (catback) on my Neon that've been on there for over a decade. I put them on in high school. The whole system still looks brand new, chrome tips and everything, and still sounds great.

Borla would be my top choice for longevity, that's for sure. I'm not the biggest fan of slip joints though. Are any of these systems flanged?

We do have a "definitive"  exhaust thread here, BTW, which has some pretty good info.

Still wondering what just a set of mufflers will do, though. Not necessarily in the facet of performance, but for sounds. I need a little more grumble at WOT.

Borla IMHO is the best sounding regardless of application, and they truly last forever. I always forget about this option.

guys:
forgot the actual cost as got them through summit but corsa was highest then borla was in middle & magnaflow was lowest. at that time didn't know about stainless works, so don't know there pricing. but since magnaflow didn't have an attack mode for the sho ruled them out. to me the whole difference is the resonator. i thought for a while about having it taken out but when i got the dp's, they moved sound up to the right level for me. unless want to go full boar then going to add some cutouts.

I ran a video of my SHO 0-140 next to a video of another forum members SHO 0-140 only difference was he has a Corsa catback. 0-60 basically the same, By 80 hes a tad faster by 100 he's quite a bit faster. I think the higher the speed the more difference the power gains show more. When I hit 130 he's at 140. Now if you don't run that fast you wont see the power benefits much from exhaust, but if we went side by side he should beat me to the end of the 1/4 mile by just a tad. After that he shines on even more with the exhuast. Both videos on on here recently in the LMS tune revision threads where we both posted 0-140 pulls with the new tune.

My problem with the Borla option is two fold...
One is its only 2.25"
Two is it welds to 3rd cat instead of bolting to dp flange

Magnaflow also welds to 3rd cat instead of directly to dp's. Also its "only" 409 stainless instead of 304. Normally I wouldnt care but I had a magnaflow midmuffler and in under a year and one winter here in NC it rusted more than id like.

SW and Corsa only options that bolt to dp's... SW uses a small resonator and Corsa doesnt.
My issue with SW is the Turbo style muffler over the straight thru. Turbo muffs are very convoluted and louvered instead of perforated.
They said theyd swap em out but tbh when I got em on the phone i was far from impressed, which is sad cause I really like my downpipes.

Because of all those reasons I listed above, I ordered a Corsa this past Saturday.

My fav setup before (hopefully) this one was the 3rd cat/res delete, magnaflow tru-x muffler, and dynomax axle back.
Was too quiet, but zero rasp, zero drone, slight turbo whistle and a great tone.

At 2.25" diameter, I assume the Borla is somewhat more quiet compared to the larger diameter options?

My experience has yielded with larger diameter comes more volume, and more drone.

One other option is for about $500 local shop build 2.5" pipes plus $60 for Magflo X-PIPE,and $230 Dynomax mufflers.

Corsa to me is the way to go although it is the most expensive u get what u pay for.. it has the best sound and no drone which was important to me. Performance wise I feel that it is the best especially at WOT runs. I promise u won't be disappointed.  Every one has there opinions which is fine I'm just giving u mine.. here is a clip of mine...

Like the other poster said you get what you pay for,I ordered mine in 1/14,the best thing is no cutting no welding, direct bolt on to dp;s and corsa is chambered because I was a little worried just purchased car in 9/13,i didn't want anything custom. My friend has a body shop easiest install ever, took about 40min he said give me 100.00 and coffee, and I also have sw downpipes catted and its pretty loud.In your case it will sound louder.

I agree with 68_GT. Most of our customers do their upgrades in stages. Many do CAI, 160 T-stat, Tune, catted downpipes and then the cat-back. With the SHO's Corsa is the best choice, and while I understand that it is the most " expensive " option you also have to remember that when it comes to anything you get what you paid for. These exhausts are made from the highest quality T304 stainles, which means they are built to last, and Corsa puts countless hours into their products which is how they are able to achieve their No drone technology. It really is worth the $, and we've got them in stock and ready to go!

What's funny is that when I called SW to ask about swapping the turbo muffs for the s-tube's they tried to talk me into keepimg turbo muffs for sound quality reasons. I expressed my concern about flow rate of obviously convoluted turbo style mufflers, he said... and I quote,
"They flow plenty, in fact Livernois found that our catback makes the most power."
And supposedly I was talking to the GM there.

I was so utterly disappointed in that obvious lie that they lost all chances of me purchasing their exhaust... which sucks because my dp's are very nice.
I ordered a Corsa the next day.

The longer I am on this forum it seems that as more and more folks do there exhaust experiments that the general consensus is Corsa is the best and sounds the best . I've had this on my SHO for 10 months and love it .

I have the LMS/corsa catback and now there catted down pipes..
Sounds great so far and I am excited to hear the sound difference with the DP added..
