I just can’t win with this Flex

I’ve been flushing, adding coolant filter, and refill with Delo ELC, to the International vt365/Powerstroke 6.0 diesels for a decade now in the battle against silicate drop out and casting sand. The Ford Gold coolant was crapola, what kind of red koolaid are they using now? What’s the consensus on flush and filter for these guys if the water pump is at risk?
OP, hope you don’t mind me jumping in your thread.

I thought I recognized the SN, lol

I'm curious about this myself....looking in my '13 it looks like that Ferd Gold crap. I was wondering how much that plays into the waterpump issue.

Your 13 should have the ORANGE coolant in it, I think they switched midway in the 2010 MY.
It's not Dex Orange..... it's closer to gold. I plan to have it flushed in the next 6k anyway.... before it hits 60k miles. Just need the extra cash. Buying these damn things is expensive! lol

Can you take a pic of the coolant in there now?  Should be orangish/pinkish color.  In any case, you can do multiple drain and fills if you want to DIY, only need to open the radiator petcock (plastic).  Distilled water as the intermediate fill till it comes out clear.  Then concentrate of choosing.  Should give you the 50/50.

Is there any way in the world the new oil separator could have caused this?
I only ask because that’s the last part I changed out before this happened

It has certainly crossed my mind on a few occasions since day one of posting.....
Here's something that might be noteworthy pertaining to your 2010MY! Dunno!  Z

BTW any pics of the Oil Sep install!  Z

Not really of the install but of the old and new in my other thread about the separator.

What’s your thought? Bad separator?
I mean should put fresh oil and the old separator in and see what happens?

I was responding to your question earlier and find it such a coincidence that this happened right after the Oil Sep install thats all!
I guess curiosity kills!  Z

It’s back! After a long hiatus of sitting on my lift, then off to someone that could actually do the job I got her back yesterday.
As for right now, all that went bad was the water pump.

My love/hate relationship with this car continues.
