Hi everyone!
I used to be very active in this community a few years ago. I owned a 2010 and a 2013 SHOs and a 2010 MKT all tuned by Livernois. I was one of the first to run meth injection and held the record for the fastest SHO for a while until tuebo upgrades were made available.
I ran 12.09 and 12.08 in both SHOs. I sold the last one in 2015. There hasn't been a week I didn't miss the tuned ecoboost cars...
I drove a bwm 750xi, a volvo v60 polestar, a g37x and with the growing family I bought a Mazda cx9...
Since I need the space, I just sold it and replaced it with a 2014 MKT... with the firm intention to tune it. Oh yeah! back with a sleeper!
My plan is to buy the LMS Mycal, tstat160, 3barmap and cooler plugs.
I am waiting for a reply from Livernois.
It has been 3 years now that I am away from the tuning world... is my grocery list pertinent to get the best bang for the buck? I don't want downpipes, exhaust, springs or meth... and the cai isn't adding any power.
I just want to be a fast sleeper without compromising reliability of the engine/transmission.
Anyways... glad to be back here.
Cheers!

Welcome back to the fold there Steve......

Where do you live?  We have seen some interesting developments in the time you have been away,  one is .28 plugs may not be all that important,  and 1 step colder plugs with meth may not be ideal in wet/colder climates (like Oregon where i live).  To cold a plug with meth can lead to premature fouling and plug failure.

Welcome back brother! Glad to see many of the originators back on board. :)  Post some Pics @ your earliest convenience and Best of luck.  Z

If you are willing to do E, there is a lot that can be had in the tuning area today.  Of course, getting powertrain fluids done first will set the stage for tons of happyness :D

And glad to see you back here :thumb: :thumb:  Good luck with the MKT.

Yes, your list is still the best bang for the buck minus perhaps the spark plugs? I am not sure what the factory is sticking in the MKT's.. but I am guessing the SP-534's? If they are, depending on mileage of the vehicle, you can just pull them out an gap them down if needed...

Not much has changed in 3 years unless you are going for big power with meth, upgraded turbos, E blending, etc..the basics are still the basics,... Tune, 3BAR, Tstat, properly gapped plugs.

Welcome back.

Thanks!
I just hung up with Dave from LMS and that is exactly what I will be getting: tuner, Tstat160 and 3barmap. The spark plugs have been changed when I got the car 2 days ago (there was miss firing, so they put new ones). So I will just gap them down from 35 to 30... So all-in, we are talking about 1000usd project to gain close to 70whp and 90lbs, not too shabby! And that includes a 251usd extra to have it shipped in Quebec and pay the taxes and customs :(.
Thanks again!

Welcome back from a new guy!

The advances from the guys running SCT tuners lately has been considerable since they are able to datalog and tune to your specific vehicle.  Many of the faster guys these days are running the custom tunes with E and/or Meth to really dial in to their vehicle's unique needs.  I would highly suggest you take a look at those options before you make a final decision and spend your $ given the taxes and customs you have to pay.
