installing exhaust today

The car was too noisey to hear anything.
Its like the gopro was designed specifically to catch as much wind noise as possible. Even the A/C sounded like a hurricane before I turned it off.

Shop says its all because the turbos are getting more flow. Not sure if it will go away with break in but i will give it two weeks and see. The xpipe probably might make it a little better.

Again, I say noise is mechanical from engine torquing and body flexing. Try goosing engine while parked. That can can minimize some torquing.

Turbo noise, well I don't know a lot about turbos but that sounds like hog wash to me.

Initially my installer wanted to loosen my control arm and other suspension parts to get DP's to fit. Including the motor mounts. I over ruled that upon my own inspection. They installed the easier (left) side first. So I made them install right side first then everything bolted right up. If your guys installed left side first, they may have tried the same thing by unbolting or loosening something on the suspension. It normal to want to install the easier side first but that creates more problems. I would ask that question.

My PPE pipes rub the shaft exiting the PTU that goes to the half shaft. Looks like they need to adjust their jig. Probably going to buy a set from Livernois since these ones don't fit right.

My first set of DP was done at a buddy's shop and took roughly about two hrs because of the improper location of the bung for the 02 sensor and had to modify it on the stage 3 DP,the second set took me about 90 min to install the PPE DP which was alot easier the second time around, found that the passenger side is more difficult to remove and install and clearly should be performed first, the drivers side is pretty simple and should be done last, both sets of catted DP came with bolts and never had any issues with clearance,BTW i'm just the type that likes to watch and learn and waited until the car was finished, guess thats the ocd in me.LOL. My OCD has me not liking the fitment. Had to grind a chunk out of the little cover that goes around that shaft in pic, pipe is too close to allow for the bolt to go back in. Also had to grind out the 02 sensor holes because they were not clean enough to accept the sensor.

I feel bad and had no clue you were experiencing fitment issues, know the SHO/FLEX have the same fitment but the XSPORT is some what different, did you ever talk with Mike.B about the fitment. Z

Nope, was sort of waiting to see if anyone else ran into this. My mechanic said we could try and force it back, but didn't want to affect the turbo mounting by doing so.

Pipes sound great, seem to perform well, just tight. Really liking the ceramic coating to fight the heat getting to the shaft leaving PTU now that these aftermarket pipes don't come with a heat shield like the stock ones had right there....besides the color of course.

I wouldnt hesitate and wait to long, would be great if Mike from EPP would chime in .

Not much to do I think. It is what it is. Next Thursday is coilover install. We're going to check everything out then when it's hoisted up. See if there's excess rubbing then.
