Just bought a SHO, my first adult purchase!

Hello everyone, I'm proud to say that I have recently made my first adult purchase out of college and pulled the trigger on a 2010 SHO with the most complete service history I've seen on a used car! She's painted a beautiful white platinum tri-coat and only has 79,000 miles so far. Fully loaded with everything but massage seats and PP. I've already taken her to a few car meets, and got little to no interest from anyone ("who the f**k is this kid with a Taurus compared to my Mustang/Camaro/350z?!") but I'm researching mods already to hopefully change that. In order, I'm thinking BOV VTA mod (only one though), CAI (can't decide which one to go with, anyone selling used?), then a tune from LMS. She's my DD, so I don't wanna get too crazy.

Anyone have any advice, opinions, or general things to look out for?

Welcome aboard the EBPF Partner, what kind of service was performed? anything extensive?think you also mentioned a tune from LME which is definitely the best bang for your buck, heres the link info@livernoismotorsports.com and best of luck.  Z

It was all just standard services, nothing major I don't think. But it was all detailed on the carfax, and every service was performed at the dealership which gives me peace of mind that it was well taken care of!

Welcome to the community, Wardog, congrats on picking up this '10 beaut!  Before you do any performance mods, with this mileage, I would advise getting the car uptodate on maintenance first, including:

R&R trans fluid, PTU fluid, and RDU fluid

R&R brake fluid (ideal time being when you decide to upgrade pads/rotors, which you will :)))

Replace spark plugs (you will likely do this when you add the tune) gapped to 0.030 for a tune, or 0.035 for stock - Motorcraft plugs SP534 work well

Check the PCV system - no pooling oil in turbo intake piping or intercooler

Check for loose hoses/split clamps - some hoses will come loose under boost and you will need to ADD a clamp where there is none OEM

Clean both MAP sensors with MAF cleaner

Use synthetic blend or (highly recommended) full synthetic 5W30 engine oil; Motorcraft filter works great, Mobil 1 EP filter if you want to step up

Check coolant level (should be at the COLD FULL mark for proper operation)

With a tune, you may decide to go with a colder TStat, so you may need engine coolant (Specialty Green, I believe) at that time also
Once again, welcome, and look forward to updates/experiences with your SHO!

And thanks for adding a signature to your profile!!! :thumb:

For imgur images, simply add .jpg to the end of the URL to make the forum pick it up as an image file, when you paste in the URL for the image link when using the INSERT IMAGE button.  That's it!

So "http://imgur.com/wBc6BVa" becomes "http://imgur.com/wBc6BVa.jpg"
and "http://imgur.com/yW56Lvd" becomes "http://imgur.com/yW56Lvd.jpg"

If you like adding the tags manually, add img enclosed in square brackets to the start of the image URL, and /img enclosed in square brackets to the end of the image URL.

Nice ride. How do you know it's not a PP? Did you see the window sticker. I bought a used 2011 and thought it wasn't a PP. Go to the Ford ETIS site and put your VIN number in under vehicle. It will tell you how it was ordered. It won't say it has the Performance Package but if it says it has a 3.16 axle ratio and no spare tire, 99.9% sure it has it. I went to the site and it said I had the 3.16 axle and no spare tire. Then it was confirmed when I got a copy of my window sticker. Either way they make a great DD. Good luck.

I checked for a spare tire when I test drove it and I've got one, so I'm assuming that means non PP :/
