Just ordered DownPipes from LMS

Hi, All,

I just pulled the trigger on some catless DP's for my 2013 SHO (NON-PP). I have a few questions before I begin this process.

1. Gaskets, should I reuse or just order new ones? If new ones, could someone provide the Part# for them?
2. Now, I've seen claims of about 15 HP gains from the DP's. Does anyone have timeslips of what the DP's took away from the ET's? Currently, tune only, nothing else done, 93 Unleashed tune, my best is a 12.8 @ 106.5. In the 1/8th last Wednesday in Florida, ran a best time of the night @ 8.28 @ 83 mph.

I've seen people reuse the gaskets, but I don't want any exhaust leaks. I will be doing this on a lift in a shop where my friends build cars for a hobby. (They build Hondas mostly, but they allow my Ford to grace their shop.)

I also am thinking of getting a different tuner. I heard that Torrie won't turn off the second O2's anymore and I don't want to stare at a CEL. I was thinking BCB or AJP. I like to Datalog, so LMS is out of the question and I already have an SCTx4.

Last question. Other than PB Blaster, patience, and some tools is there anything else I should be aware of before tackling this project?

Thanks in advance! I love this Forum! I check it every day to read up on how my fellow EB'ers are doing.

Just realize I have never posted pics of my baby. She's a black 13 SHO though, so I'm sure you know how she looks. I keep her stock looking. I love the sleeper aspect of these cars, but I go to the track so often people are starting to not line up next to the Taurus =(

I re used my gaskets but used some copper rtv and was fine....catless piles are healthier for the turbos reduce thermal load and lower back pressure which there is already way too much of

I would install new gaskets with a Tab of Rtv for a peace of mind and surely don't want to end up with an exhaust leak after the install IMO............
Due take extra precaution not to Damage any 02 sensors while removing/installing them avoiding any twisting/pinched wires.

Question, second line is confusing me a bit due to two hyper links. I'll order new gaskets because I just want to be on the safe side. I'll also get some copper RTV as suggested by AJP.

Can't thank you all enough. I absolutely love my SHO and this forum has helped me stay in front of any issues that may arise.

Kind of surprising for the that kind of money they don't come with a new set of gaskets.
There are NO DP that come with gaskets AFAIK.  Z
Bolts are a different matter!!

You'll need to buy bolts, nuts and washers for where the dp's hookup to the catback part of the exhaust. My LMS dp's didn't come with any.

The DP to turboback exhaust gaskets are reusable per Ford, but it's good to have a new pair on hand, as doublegasketing might be required to properly seal the junction.  Right, Z?

Do you know what size, thread count, etc. bolts you  bought?

SHOdded is Spot on!  @ 500 Degrees "F. Exhaust there is nothing bullet-proof and sometimes find it beneficial to install double-gaskets depending on the year and current mileage on your vehicle for a leak-free system.
I had to install new gaskets with some Rtv after finding an exhaust leak on my 2nd set of DP install.

Here is a most recent member which ultimately ended up adding double-gaskets for good measures. Z

Here are some pics of the front turbo gaskets for reference.  Z

I recall it required a 15mm socket to remove the four bolts. AFAIK.
I would email LMS @ -info@livernoismotorsports.com  .Z

Sent them an email. Thank you! Hopefully they let me know, or they are sending hardware with the pipes. I get gaskets, but no new hardware for that much change is just mean.

It unfortunately looks like the "catted version" DP come with Bolts AFAIK.
I had both the PPE catted and Stage-3 catted version DP and both came with the necessary hardware.
I guess sometimes with a premium price comes the hardware.  Z

@ ClearwaterSHO I was curious if you received your DP?
FYI-UPDATE - All of the LMS DP come with the necessary Hardware pack with Bolts.
If by any reason the hardware did not come with your order to call 313-561-5500 ext 1.
Best of luck to ya.  Z

Hi, Z! I went with a different set. LMS said I had to use my current hardware and order gaskets. I went with the Stainless DP's. Should be here next week. Thinking DPs, and a nice ETune and this girl is gonna be moving!

Ahh the Stage 3 DP which will require an 02 extender due to the improper location of the 02 bung.  Z

Do you know the part number for the 02 extender so I can go ahead and order it?
I would try contacting SWorks as they should have it readily  available .Z
