License plate lights not working

Hey Guys,
Got new puddle lights from drivebright.com. Puddle lights went in fairly easy and look great. My issue is the license plate lights. Went to change one and it didn't come on, flipped it around and still nothing. put the oem bulb back on and nothing. I took out the whole housing out and under further inspection, the led bulb doesn't fit well because of the large heat sink on the back of it and the heat sink is dangerously close to sorting the fixture (probably what happened). Now the lights don't work at all. I checked fuse #40 which is for rear parking lights and its good. They are the only lights not functioning. Anyone know the fuse they should be under and it they are part of the light controller or just straight power?

Parking, rear, and license lamps all run off Fuse 40.  So possibly the LPLs from DB are defective.  Wouldn't be the first time.  Do the original lights work?  If so, you need to get replacements from them OR go to an alternate vendor like DiodeDynamics.com, or even Amazon (e.g., SiriusLEDs).

Originals are not working. I will have to test with a multi-meter tonight and make sure the oem bulbs arent dead too.

It has me curious if it could be related to your other problem....I hope it's not an electrical gremlin....Although it looks like we are on the path to find out.

I don't think so, didn't have light issue until I started messing with replacing the bulbs to LED. Since the other parking lights work, it has to be the harness just on the plate lights since I did get rear ended and everything was taken apart etc. I thinking its a connector or ground. Easy to test with multi-meter.

Damn cars how does this happen lol.

no that harness only has license plate lights, button , and traffic sensors. I think the guy that did my exhaust may have nicked it. Just took over a year to corrode through.
