Will the car run properly with stock tune and downpipes?

Yes but will get a CEL after about 20 miles or so atleast mine did before i revised my tune. The CEL will not harm ur car tho.

I would imagine off road pipes like you have would throw a code for sure. I'm guessing torrie turns off the after cat O2's

Ceramic coated they look nice

Yep... Love the ceramic appearance.... Here's my PPE DPs installed...

And almost anything is an improvement over stock... Here's what came off..

It's easy to see why the flow is improved... Compare stock to my uninstalled DPs...

Looks great Tom...I sure do like the look of those black ones. Man why didn't I go with that color...LOL...no offense Mike, just having fun

Rich

I went black with black... If I had ingot silver I'd likely have silver ones.... Still great looking  :beer2:

Objects of envy ... esp. for us Edge folks :D  Now that we have a 2.0 AND a 2.7 TT offering, maybe the market will take note!

My question is... Why are these things so damn expensive? It's just 2 pipes with a couple bends in them... 1k for downpipes from ppe? Really?? 100$ per hp.. Prob cost 250$ to make these..

Research and development costs.....

Overhead including shop, tools, employees available to engineer the product from a thought to a working product.

The pipes are $760 on ecopowerparts.com + shipping. :)
Less exensive than any other downpipes AND 5" care amazing cats that supported 600WHP on my Flex.
WIN WIN

I think I will do catted, just because of the hassle of inspection and the stink of un burnt fuel. Did you do a before and after at the track?

Just an FYI - I have been running the un-catted PPE version with a Livernois 4+ tune for almost a year and there is NO "un burnt fuel smell" - none, nada, nothing. Once the grease burnt off the new pipes you could not tell anything had changed via smell OR tailpipe output.....

What about inspection? Do you have emissions ?

We are not saddled with emissions testing here so cannot comment on that. Only difference was the improvement of performance :)
