LMS tune updated v6 = less power?

Hey Guys,
I thought I would throw this out there, I had I guess the original tune in my sho since April of 2013 installed at LMS by Rick. At the time there was only 2 options. 91 and 93. I had the guys update my tuner and tunes today. I installed the new tune Lms 93 v6, and then went for a drive. I can tell you that the seat of the pants feeling is less. No question, my daughter even noticed it. What gives? If I wanted less I would load the 91 tune, any of you guys experience anything similar?

That is strange.  I seem to notice a bit of difference between my 91 and 93 tunes.  But, butt dyno's are hard to tell.  Sometimes the peakier boost tunes are not always the fastest.  They feel fast, but are not.  May check with your tuner to make sure you got the right tunes etc.  Good luck.

I did speak to Brandon and he did confirm that I have the correct Tune files, but I can't shake the feeling that it's not as fast.

I thought I saw v8 (post Cold Weather version) floating around as the lastest version?  Is the SHO otherwise behaving normally (no abrupt shifting, no hesitation, etc.)?

Certainly uncommon to hear.
I think everybody here would agree the SOTP improvement from a properly functioning tune is very significant.

I know it was for my SHO.

Something isn't right.

Ok something isn't right, coming back from a long drive a few WOT runs to 60 and I am getting a hesitation (sound like a misfire) pop pop pop. I have had the old tune in my car off and on for over a year. And other than the occasional shutdown from too much tire spin lol it ran perfect. I am now wishing I had the old tune back. What gives?

Check plugs, as well as your fuel injectors.

I'd suspect you may have something mechanically related, that has little, or nothing to do with the tune all.

Thanks for your replies, I just changed the plugs this week and gaped them at 0.030, the old plugs looked good but I changed them anyway. My car has only 40K km on it (24K miles)  I had the old tune in the car this morning and it ran just like it always did strong as hell with no miss or hesitation, I can't see how all of a sudden when the tune files were updated then I developed a mechanical issue? I will check the plugs tomorrow once it has cooled down. I am going to plug in my laptop to the car and do a bit of data logging to see what she says. Is there anyway to get the old tune version back?

Data logging is always the best, as others will attest.

Good that you swapped plugs recently. Injectors in these cars have been hit or miss as well with some owners.

You should still have access to what you are terming is your "old tune file".

Not sure what device you have, but if it's the SCT, it should be in the device itself. If it's the MyCal, it should be on the SD Card.

I just may have a bad plug or something, weird that I didn't feel it with the old Tune or Stock? Is that even possible? I logged a few WOT runs to 60 and a few WOT down shifts, the good news is no knocking. It did however detect 4 misfires during the 10 min drive. But only 4 misfires, even more weird is that she felt like she was pulling harder this time. I did return the car to stock, pulled the neg and waited 10 min. Drove the car for a bit and re installed the tune again. I did however notice that the Octane learn was only at 75% would that have any impact on anything here? Weird because I haven't changed from 94 in forever. I guess I grab another set of plugs tomorrow and change them out again lol. If you guys think of anything else please let me know. Thanks Guys!

Interesting. My SD Card was left in the device, therefore, I have access to any of the tune files developed for me over the years.

I would ask them to email the different tune files you've been issued, then move them over to your own SD Card for available use as you see fit.

I presumed that all MyCal devices were supplied with an SD Card, that were then retained by the end user.

Seems odd.

Mine does not have an accessible memory storage device either... There is an OBDII connector plug and a USB plug.  Tunes are backed up on my computer when emailed or loaded onto the MyCal.

Is that on the non-touchscreen models?

Either way, correct.....

Requesting any/all files emailed as I suggested, would work as well.

That is the newer no touch screen version.

You are correct about the tune files getting emailed. I understand all tunes written are kept on the LMS server identified by user/car.

Careful with that pop pop pop as a SHO here was killed here by 1 pop..

That sucks to say the least, in my case I believe that it is most likely a bad plug. I took the car out again and did a bit more logging, it doesn't miss all the time. Just under WOT and not always. No knocking reported by the computer, boost looked good and all other parameters looked normal too. I am going to change out the plugs tomorrow, for $30.00 it's an easy fix to say the least. I may not have noticed it before as I possibly didn't really drive that hard since I installed the plugs. Who knows, but for some reason it's missing at WOT and only sometimes. My laptop reported 7 misfire events during the drive, and nothing else. We shall see.... I'll let you guys know how I make out.

On another note when I plugged in my laptop I got a new DTC lol, it seems I have a bad heated mirror lol. So back to the dealer I go......
