Lowered the SHO

I can’t believe I forgot to post a pic.
I was waiting FOREVER for the 10-12 coilovers to become available.
And my own stupid fault I took everything apart before I had the new parts in hand so my time table was rushed unfortunately.

Anyway, got everything installed
with new H&R springs, struts, shocks, bolts, onetime use nuts etc..

Ride is firm but not overly so,
I do have 255/45/20 so that might be helping.
Alignment was not so straight forward, they had to spin my front right strut mount 180° to get it back in spec.
Rear needed spc bolts, l used
the 84130 and they worked perfectly.

Also changed front rotors/ pad while I was in there.
Repainted the front calipers/brackets with gloss epoxy paint. Didn’t do the rears yet.

Pics as required.

Forgot to mention I do have about
200 extra pounds of audio equipment in the trunk.
So I’m a little lower than usual.
I’ll get some measurements shortly

Looks Lovely there Glock!  :thumb:  I was wondering what happened!
Btw give it a few hundred miles to break/settle in period! enjoy .Z

looks great glock!
i'm also on 255/45/20 lowered. your rear doesn't look much lower  with the extra weight

yeah you're about 1/4" lower all around actually. id almost expect you to be higher up front due to having fresh struts vs my 40k oem's. interesting

Hey Glock,

Do you happen to have the part numbers for your struts and shocks?

Car looks great and it appears you still have a little rake?

Thx FoMoCoSHO, still a little rake.

Struts, unfortunately don't remember which is left or right

Looking great! I have a PP and didn't expect much, other than the lowered stance. I was shocked at the performance gains. It's like a different car. Anyone considering these springs, do it.

No pics of this alleged 200lbs or so of audio?

Tsk tsk tsk...... such a tease.

And my confusion deepens...

Tasca says you have struts from two different suspension codes in the front...

https://www.tascaparts.com/auto-parts/2011/ford/taurus/sho-trim/3-5l-v6-gas-engine/front-suspension-cat/struts-and-components-scat

Am I reading that wrong?
My step father is the parts manager a local Chevy dealership.
I ask the same question about the suspension codes, he assured me they were correct for my vin.  So did the Ford dealer he ordered them from.
Ford makes things to damn confusing for some reason.
If they are wrong I can’t notice anything as it all went in smooth.

I had every intention to do a
“how to” but it lost steam as the build took awhile. I think I still have most of the pics on my phone.
I’ll start a new thread and post what I have.  But here’s a preview.
Nothing special, I wasn’t going for show quality.
I went infinite baffle (no box)
Here’s an old RTA from tuning that peak 4-6k is not there anymore as I’ve changed my mids highs since. Just don’t have a screenshot of the more recent.

JBL ms-8 doing the processing.
JL360-4 for mids
JBL MS-a500 for the subs.
2-15” subs

Nice. Always a pleasure having that.... much desired thumpity thump thump whilst motoring around in speed/style.

If you do a (separate) thread on that, I may be compelled to do one on mine eventually.

My (audio) build took nearly 5mo.'s, whew. Not sure what duration yours was.

Anyhow, 2-15's, 2-12's, 2-6x9's, 4-5x7's, 4-tweeters, 4-Class D digital amps (2 are 1000x4 channel each, other 2 are 600x4 channel each).

A quick pic.....

When you get down to it. Tuning and lowering. They both totally change the SHO for the better and do not cost that much.
