Max speed in each gear

I was wondering what the Max mph was through the six gears under full wot in a stock vehicle.

Next I wonder what the max mph in each gear is with a Unleashed or Livernois tune only.

Any ideas?

From 2010 SHO road test in Car & Driver:

1st: 36
2nd: 56
3rd: 87
4th: 114
5th: 133 (5100 rpm)
6th: 133 (3800 rpm)

These are at 6200 RPM except in 5th and 6th. The stock car is governor limited to 133. When tuned, the top speed limiter is removed so the top speed would be much higher in 5th and 6th. The rev limiter should be kept in place so the speeds in 1st through 4th will be the same.

Yeah as Bruce said, the max speed in 1st-4th wont change with the same rev limit, what changes is how fast you get there! What is your end game? Are you trying to gauge the performance increase of the tunes? Best way to do that is 1/4 or 1/8 ET.

I wonder what the top speed on a  tuned pp and non pp is, it seems like my car will get up there to 130+ real quick and like it would keep pulling to 180mph but i know its not possible probably haha

OEM tune the top speed is the same as the only diff in PP is gear ratio in first... With speed limiter disabled the variation is individual over as narrow range for the same reason.

I stopped doing top speed runs. Now i know why my insurance went down as I got older LOL. I am more concerned with getting to a reasonable speed VERY quickly haha.

Me too... Found I could easily bury the speedo needle.... And agree that it's more fun in a DD to get to 60-80 quickly than know a top speed that I can only use in Nevada. So I am very happy with my 3.9-4 sec 0 to 60.... When the warranty is gone I might be able to get it to 3 sec with meth... But gotta roll a few more miles.

If you have 20" wheels and the tires are say 29.7"
Engine @ 6000RPM
Your axle ratio is 2.77
1st gear 4.484:1 = 42.7 MPH
2nd gear 2.872:1 = 66.6 MPH
3rd gear 1.842:1 = 103.9 MPH
4th gear  1.414:1 = 135.3 MPH
5th gear 1:1 = 191.4 MPH
6th gear 0.742:1 = 258 MPH

If only air didn't put up a fight. :)

That's my drawback, I have 84months/84K mile bumper to bumper and just got it basically 10/16 so...the wait is long and arduous.  I have to do things that are easily changed for dealer services moving forward....until....
