Hi folks,

Some of you already know my Flex, and its wheels.  They are L&B Forged 3 piece units, specially made to fit the Flex exactly but it will also be a very nice fit for Taurus, Explorer, and many other Ford/Lincolns with the same basic fitment needs.

These are multi-finished, because they are 3 piece wheels.  Inner barrels are bare aluminum (but coated and waxed), outer barrels are bare polished aluminum, and centers are brushed aluminum with a ceramic clear coat.  The detail on the metal work is amazingly good, and a testament to a good program and process in the CNC machine.

Fronts are 22x9 +37
Rears are 22x10 +37

Tires are 265/35-22 Toyo Extensa HP, and I'm going to approximate the tread depth at about 70%, conservatively.  They've been fantastic tires, smooth and quiet even in this lower profile.

Damage:  I've had them for a year and I have babied these wheels, but curbs still can come out of nowhere so here's the report.  The RR sustained a curbing and I sanded down and polished out (advantage of a bare polished aluminum part) 95% of the damage, basically to the point where it is invisible while standing next to the car.  The RF recently sustained a tiny scrape, I suspect from a pothole edge, but I bet that one will sand and polish out 100% with a few minutes work (may try this weekend.)  As for the rest of the wheel, I would rate them as perfect.  The ceramic clear coat is really gorgeous.

Be mindful that these are 3 piece wheels, so any real damage can either be repaired, or you can replace the damaged section for minimal costs.  A replacement polished lip runs from $150-250 or so, if you mess one up really bad OR want to resize the wheel at some point.

Notes:  I do believe (but haven't yet measured it) that these wheels are running a hub bore of 63.4mm.  I do know they were completely custom-matched to my Flex's bore and fit without centric rings or anything of the sort.  I speak about this because I understand some of our cars use different bores, so I didn't want anybody disappointed they don't fit.  Keep in mind, re-boring a wheel only runs about $25-50 at a qualified shop, so it isn't really a big deal to change.

Price:  Well wheels depreciate just like any used car part, but keep in mind I dropped about 4k for the whole set including tires.  My starting price is $2700 negotiable, and regarding shipping let's definitely talk about options on that.  If you are near Las Vegas or plan on being here sometime, perhaps picking them up would be a good way to go.  If you are interested in the wheels alone (to fit say, the Explorer), then I'll work on that with you.

Just communicate with me via PM any offers if you are interested in these.  I'm sure we'll work it out to your satisfaction!

Oh and for now, they'll stay mounted to the car, so if I'm shipping them to someone I'll take these off and put on my stockers the next day, clean them up and take high-res pics to make sure you are aware of every nook and cranny of them, and then pack them for shipping with high insurance.

Ideally, the parts are supposed to be off the vehicle, ready to ship.  This way the potential buyers know the seller is ready to sell and not posting just for the heck of it or waffling.  Also this minimizes delays between purchase and shipping.  In a vast majority of cases, the seller has "put back to stock" and has full use of, or has disposed of, their vehicle.  It is understandable that if you no longer have the stock wheels, that the wheels are still mounted to the car, but then should a potential buyer pay the penalty of speculating when they might actually receive said goods?  The playing field should be level, within reason, for people who know you AND the people who do not know you.

For now, I would modify the topic text to read GAUGING INTEREST instead of FOR SALE.  Then change it to FOR SALE when you have the wheels off the Flex, ID'd in the pics and ready to go per the rules.  I think that would be fair.  But at the very least, retake the pics of the wheels with a post it on them (member name, city/state) to indicate the pics are yours.
