New 2014 BoB with PP...glad to be part of the community!

I just bought a new 2014 black on black with performance pack and massaging seats!!!  I had a 1996 Lexus that I had an accident in and needed to replace ASAP.  I also have/had a WRX with no engine.  Was planning on getting a built engine for it but the guy I bought it from never delivered so now I have a 2002 WRX shell in my driveway!

Anyway, I know a thing or two about turbo cars and I love the SHO!  I have 3 kids so the rear seats are just about big enough for the 3 of them to sit across and the trunk is just HUGE!  I would have preferred a manual, but since it doesn't come in a manual, having the paddle shifters is the next best thing (I guess).

Picked her up this past Tuesday and drove her into Manhattan yesterday (I commute into the city every day) and loved the car!  The performance pack really makes the car sit up and scream!  The torque is amazing...very easy to merge and keep up with the cabs in the city.  The handling is great, but this is a big car.  Not used to the width yet, but I will get there.

I thought I would have an issue with using the touchscreen but found that I rarely have to touch it.  The screen on the dash combined with the controls on the steering wheel and the buttons on the dash make it so that I don't really have to take my eyes from the road.

I keep finding myself going faster than I expected because the car is so fast and quiet.  Need to pay attention to that!

While I love the functionality of the top of the line Sync system (never thought I would say that), the sound is mediocre at best with no bass to speak of.  That is the one area that is really lacking.

I wish the PP didn't come with summer tires.  We are getting several inches of snow today and I don't want to take the car out even with the all wheel drive.  I did find out that 18 inch and 19 inch rims will fit on the car (as long as they have 5 3/4 inches of backspacing) so I am going to go to TireRack.Com and pick up 18 inch wheels with winter tires (or, at worst, good all season tires).Anyone have any recommendations?

I am looking forward to getting to know that car and, at some point, upgrading the car.  I know the car has a lot more in it, stock, and getting at it is just a matter of a tune (and some colder spark plugs and maybe an up-pipe, down-pipe and exhaust).

Anyway, I am very glad to be here and I hope I love the car as much going forward as I do now.

Welcome, officially, to the dark side with the SHO, John!  Many happy memories to u :)  Cars get faster and quieter all the time, don't they?  Glad you like the electronics :)

There are a few people with custom subs installed, most recently Dxlnt1, I think.  There are various threads that give you detailed info on the what's and why's.

18's are probably your best choice for going in the snow/ice.  Tirerack.com has some excellent tires, the most renowned of which are the Bridgestone Blizzaks (been around FOREVER), and the Michelin Alpine.  They have ratings, check it out, it's fun reading!

Does the '14 get a spare tire by any chance?  That's one of the things they take out for the PP upgrade.  I think you can fit one off an Interceptor (Boggus knows better about that).

Nice read..... thanks for posting.

Welcome aboard there :newbie:

:hi:

Definitely a lot of "room" left on the table, as far as performance gains go......

Lots of great info here, helpful, friendly and active membership.

Not to mention a growing collection of vendors with outstanding (& expanding) after market products available.

Take advantage of all of the above!

:WELCOME: Glad you've joined our group.  If you think this car is fast now, wait until you see one with a tune, it's the easiest and best performance upgrade you can do to these cars.

No spare with the PP...which leaves a lot of room for amps and subs.

I run Livernois and am very happy with it.  Some guys use Unleashed and they like that one. Those are the two main players.

Hey welcome to the forum. In the days of dual clutch transmissions its making the standard transmission obsolete. I never use the paddle shifters I do like having the option though. Hope you find everything you need.

The guy that runs hennessey kind of ruined his rep on a few forums. Hes pretty childish from what Ive seen. He can make **** bat **** quick but I doubt it would last

Oh yea, excessive claims and excessive prices ($2300 for a CAI!).  Most I've spoken to say to avoid hennessey like the plague!
