How do these attach? I've seen some recent covers on eBay (CHEAP) that are secured with silicone. Doesn't seem ideal to me, do these bolt to the calipers?
BTW, need to update your profile pic with the awesome new wheelsmval said:i have the mgp red with black sho on them, love them with my new open wheels but these look like a big step up from the mgp's so am interested. on a non-pp 2010 w/ std wheels i ended up not needing any spacers.

Great idea!SRT82ECOBOOST said:For less money you can get the stock calipers powdercoated, add SHO logo and then have them clearcoated. Much better finished product in the long run.
On my other car, I had them painted in blue... Looked nice, better than with nothing, but pretty amateurish. They quickly get dirty, hard to wash and lose their lust... But still, better thN nothing imo.ZSHO said:If you want to feel more secure, you could use some caliper paint, and have them painted any color.
I get your point but I believe your argument is not pertinent.ONLYA6 said:Maybe next we can start putting engine covers on that look like the top of a V12 to hide the V6. Think about it. That's the exact same thing everyone is doing with caliper covers.
Save up and buy some real aftermarket calipers instead of trying to fool everyone into thinking that's what you have.

If you keep your actual engine cover, you are hiding the engine. The only purpose of it is to make the engine bay look better.
If you would add a V12 on it, then that would be like putting Brembo on caliper covers and that would be actually sad and laughable.
The SHO engine is not pretty so there is cover for it.
The calipers are not pretty neither, so there are covers for them.
Not to pretend you have big brakes, but to make the car look better... depending on your tastes.
I painted my engine cover too, not to pretend that the car has a nice engine. If there is a cover it is because it is actually ugly, but with a cover it looks better and imo a painted cover even better.
I have the same logic for the caliper covers.
Cheers!
That's a good point... I am so mediocre in mechanic that I don't even know how to identify 2 or 4 pistons calipers lol!ONLYA6 said:I said an engine cover that LOOKS like the top of a V12. I was trying to make an example. But anyways, it's the point you are trying to make them look like something they are not. The caliper covers are all shaped to look like a 4 piston brake caliper. The newer ones posted even have a fake brake line!
I'm not going to rant anymore about it. You are making your 2 piston sliding caliper look like a 4 piston caliper and it's not.
