New LED light tubes/DRLs for your Taurus!

They look cool! I will order mine soon. Before doing that I sent them an email inquiring about their HID kit. Since my car is Canadian it won't come with HID's. I know it's kind of dull.  So hopefully their kit will be an easy plug and play and won't blind people cause I hate those kits that would make your eyes flash after they pass by.

Cheers!

The key for "not blinding" people is a) proper headlight aiming and b) making sure the shutters work (if that's how the hi/low is on your vehicle).  The headlights may be mis-aimed straight from the factory :)

AGREED,anything over 6000k could be troublesome in many aspects and no wonder the manufacturer clearly puts on there products for off-road use only, recall a time years ago when i installed some piaa plasma fog lights which not only binded me but for a strange reason made me feel dizzy for a while, found it quite odd and scary.Z

Thanks for the heads up!

A couple more shots on my install in case anyone is interested.

I mounted the control box on a piece of flat stock aluminum and bolted it to one of the grounding posts behind the driver headlight.  The power and ground wires were extended to reach the battery.  I zip tied the wires to the DRL's to factory loom across the underside of the rad support and everything is tucked in nicely.

I will be ordering this light kit in couple weeks. I watched install video for Ford edge. Yet someone here mentioned tapping into a fuse on the car. That's not mentioned on the video. Only splicing to existing turn signal. Am I missing something?

They include a fuse tap. You pull the existing fuse then put their tap in and add the original fuse to the tap. Really simple.

Awesome and thanks. I assume the fuse box to be used is under the hood then?

Yep

Dan has since fixed the lag between the turn signal and the DRL switchback. At least... I think he has as mine are completely synchronous and also function on the door openin/ locking/ unlocking like the OEM turns do.  I also didn't use the dimming and now have driving lights that work pretty good... With no one flashing me.here'smine...

...and here it is with the engine of functions...

I ran across this vid from another manufacturer... Full LED HLs, but most interesting is the backlit front fender SHO badge which are also LED switchbacks seen near the end of it. Check it out...

Here's the link to the item in their store:

I remember on another post those lights came up. Haven't read of anyone using them yet. Seems there were questions about the manufacturer being in China and no longevity to speak of.

But I like the fender lights. When I get some extra cash, I will be doing the Drivebright DRL lights. Im hoping they will have a tail light system and maybe a fender light by then. As I prefer to shop in the USA. I will NOT make any direct purchase outside of U.S. soil.

If you want to be the guinea pig, I still have my old fender badges. Will give em to you if you do the install. Plus shipping of course. lol

Interesting offer Dave... Thanks. I might take you up on it... I have an extra set of the 2013 badges that say "SHO".... But I can't figure out how I would cut it out and preserve letters yet... The 2010-2012 badges are obvious though.... ?maybe go stealth with no letters?  I have a bud that does a lot of custom LED work for Vettes and Audis... I met him through my neighbor and his work is stellar. He has offered to do work for me... Let me talk to him and show him the extra badge before we do anything... On further search exLED now has a USA outlet too, but they list it out of stock and are saying they could get it in a month... Still rather do it with someone I know. So keep me in mind on your offer. Thanks again.

BTW... What is the removal procedure for the fender badge... Since you have done it?

Its super easy. Best way is with plastic putty knife or even regular plastic knife. You just pop in something to unclick the tabs that hold it in. There was a "How-To" on here but I can't find it now. Hopefully this picture helps. Maybe one of you with a better working relationship with Dan at Drivebright can persuade into coming up with something.

If your friend can do it I would be interested. There is a company that does does lighted "F-150" badges. I called a while back to see if they would do one for the Taurus. They had said if they got enough interest then they would pursuit it

Thanks for the pic.... Helps for sure.
Those truck badges are sweet! Definitely will let you know on my progress. Wonder if Autogarge would do one for the SHO?

i just bought some of these and had a question, is it easy to wire up and have it using the switchback vs just a running light?  is it just another wire you need to run to the turn signals or just in the programming or what?
