My goal for the day was to do better than my 11.75 last year on the E30 tune, and then throw 5 gallons of 93 in the tank and try to nab 11's with the auto octane tune. I let a friend take it down the track a couple weeks ago on the AO tune with my crappy tires and half a tank of gas, he managed a 12.28 so I figured with drag radials and only a 1/4 tank I could get close.
I think switching tunes and then not giving it time to learn may not have helped my cause. I had a full tenth better 60' time than he did, but both runs were 12.3's. I just drove it around the pits until the E sensor was reading E17 and then sent it. Probably should have left the track and driven around for 10-15 minutes and came back. It was also heat soaked pretty bad. When it ran the 12.2 it had been sitting for probably 2 hours and it was under 50 degrees that day.
Gearhead E30 tuned, gearhead intercooler, LMS HPFP and catted downpipes, AD mounts, HR springs, nitto 555R drag radials courtesy of Jordan Randle and MSD coils. I feel like that's all but I could be missing something.
If you aren't familiar with the videographer who filmed my runs, his name is Martin. He is a super cool guy and drives a 2010 black SHO. He goes to tracks on his own dime just to film cars and make cool videos. He has a couple year old video of Andrew Bullock that has over 300K views. If you like watching fast cars go down the strip, check out his other videos. If you go to the dragstrip anywhere in the midwest or have in the last two years, your car might even be in a video on his page already.
