New SHO owner here in Nasville, TN

I just picked up a 2011 Tuxedo Black Taurus SHO with Performance Package and Rapid Spec 402 plus navigation, contoured seats, and remote start.  I was fortunate to find my new toy at Mini of Nashville with 64k miles for less than $20k.  I previously owned two 6.4 l Ford Powerstroke diesel trucks, which were both heavily tuned, then I moved on to a BMW 335i, which was tuned.  After the BMW, I made the mistake of buying a Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8, which had 348 na horsepower and no real options for tuning.  Today I traded the GC for my new SHO, and I am thrilled.  I have already ordered the Livernois stage 4 tune and SCT Xcal3, and can't wait to get started.  I look forward to chatting with you guys and maybe even meeting some of you near Knoxville for a run of the Tail of the Dragon.

I do computer desktop support and needed something with a bigger trunk.  I couldn't believe my luck when I found this car!

Welcome from South Texas and congrats on your new SHO. How about some pics of that beauty .... I will be in Nashville for 4 days in two weeks .

Welcome!

Definitely post pics!

I looked at a 335xi briefly, but for $30K could only get into a 2010/2011 CPO with around 30k miles.  The SHO has way more options and flies under the radar as just a 'Taurus', which I love.

Welcome from "HOT ATLANTA" . Me and the wife (MsSHOMAN a 1.6L EB) with the Granddaughter was up in Nasville to visit Fisk University 3 weeks ago. We love get the Ga guys/gals with TN guys/gals. Ones again welcome!

Welcome to the community, Torsen, glad to have you and your SHO here!  Yeah, these cars are fun and bargains to boot in the used car market (for better or worse).  There is a thread by SHO-TYM on the Tail of the Dragon, and you can join the group that is forming for an outing later this year.

As far as mods, what all are you looking to do?  Take a peek in the HOW-TO section to get an idea of what others are doing and the level of effort involved:

Howdy, welcome to the best SHO forum (IMO) out there.

Is that sct device you ordered capable of all the tuning needs you might want in the future? I thought the sct through LMS wasn't capable of the 3 bar tune.

Welcome! It's good to see another Tennessee guy in here. I also have a 2011 Tuxedo Black SHO.  I put the 3 bar sensor on with the new plugs, and 160* thermostat and I am running the Stage 4+X tune by Anthony at LMS using the Mycal device.  AMAZING how much this car wakes up. I can't wait to hear back from you to see how you like it.

About the Dragon, I am up there weekly, either on my bike or in the SHO.  I am trying to drum up some interest in a gathering of SHOs this fall.  So I will remember to keep you posted.  Keep  your eye out for any "Dragon" updates.  Again, welcome, and enjoy.

Thanks guys!  I feel so loved!  I just got off the phone with Jaimie Tejeda from LMS, and he is switching me over to the MyCal.  When I got his email last night, I thought it was an automated email, but he sent it personally.  I am so impressed with this site and with LMS.

The first picture is a really bad one from before the dealership cleaned up the car.  The second one is the only other picture I have taken of the car.  Once I get her detailed, I will post more.

speaking of detailing.... if you want it done 100% right... then hit my buddy up.  His name is Eric Witt.  He owns www.trushine.net  .  He travels to Nashville for business a lot.  He will make your car look better than when it was new, and he will protect it with either self healing paint protection film, or opti-coat or americoat.  He has done 6 of my cars and 3 of my motorcycles.  His phone # is 865-382-6951.  Tell him Curtis sent you to him from this forum.  You won't find many people that do what he does, especially on a black car. He was featured in the Dupont Registry.... you know... the car magazine for the rich and famous.  Mr. Dupont picked 10 detailers in the nation to feature, and he made the top 10 list.

Thanks for the tip.  I may just do that.  I've always done my own, but I am getting to old for that crap!

Welcome from Murfreesboro. Lived in Music City for 5 years and still work at Grassmere Park behind the Zoo. I wouldn't mind making the trip to East Tennessee myself one of these days.

Thanks!  I worked for Verizon when they were in Grassmere Park.  I think LKQ may have moved into the suite where Verizon was, and Verizon moved to Cool Springs.
