Please say a prayer for......

It is with heavy heart learning yesterday that one of my fellow police officers with my agency, was killed, along with his brother, mother, and father, in a horrific vehicle crash while in Ireland.

Ironically, they travelled there for a separate funeral of a family member.

Steve was a fellow car enthusiast, who enjoyed racing and modifying cars, and was very much involved in the car scene. He participated in two law enforcement based racing clubs that volunteered a large portion of their off duty time to helping those in need, particularly children.

Those were/are "Beat the Heat" & "In The Line of Duty".

Speaking of children, Steve leaves behind two beautiful daughters that very much loved him, despite the relationship challenges he endured with their mother.

Here's our agencies official press release that was released just this morning:

And a news article from Ireland that detailed the crash:

Still kind of in shock at the moment. This despite dealing with death all too often in my line of work. Steve was an outstanding individual, who was so down to earth and was always helpful to every and anyone who needed it. He never thought twice about it, and always immediately sprung into action.

Please, say a prayer for Steve and his family who were killed, so their transition above is effortless. As well as a prayer for those they left behind. Particularly his two daughters.

He will be sorely missed and I myself will miss all his comradarie at the shows we did together, and at the race track. Thank you.

What a tragedy and hard to describe!  :(  So so sorry!  but my sincerest condolences to the family and my thoughts and prayers are with him and especially his family at this crucial time . Z      :rip:

Sincere condolences to the family, may the Almighty shepherd them through their time of grief.  Feel for ya too, Mike, losing a good friend is hard to recover from ...

Wow, that is tragic man.  I'm sorry for your loss.  Know if anyone is putting together something we can donate towards to help with anything his daughters or surviving family might need?  I mean at your department or anything, not necessarily through the forum.

Yes, I believe both the department, as well as the benevolent and the police unions have all tentatively discussed doing something for his children.

We're all still reeling, while trying to ascertain more details from officials in Ireland as to what happened.

Last we heard the accident reconstruction professionals were still on site conducting in-depth investigation.

Like I said, his poor daughters..... especially as we near Christmas.

I just couldn't imagine being in their shoes having simultaneously lost their father, their uncle, as well as both grand parents.

Goodness. I can/will post details, as they become available, if the community so desires. I'm sure any/all assistance would be tremendously appreciated.

Given Steve was a car nut, much like the rest of us, it's all just so crazy.

Condolences to all the family and friends. May the family passing become a testimony that strengthens the relationship between other members of the family and friends.
