Questions about exhaust install on my SHO.

Ok so I am very grateful that I have found a board member to sell me a bunch of parts for a really great deal. Thanks Brad. However, I've called a few places today to find a shop to install DP's and the corsa CB. And they are all telling me it will run about $400 to remove and install. I'm like wtf!!!!???  Is this a fair price for install? Please chime in and tell me what you guys think. I don't have a lift or the tools to do the job myself btw so that is out of the question.

To be honest with you the Corsa cat back system is fairly easy process especially if you have a lift, but a fair price would be 100.00,now regarding the DP it gets fairly more complicated as this being my second set and very familiar with the whole process, first of all try to find a reputable exhaust/muffler place and try to negotiate a price on both the items installed/package deal,to me personaly a feasible amount would be no greater than 300.00 on both items installed, also depending on the mileage and year of your vehicle and with the exhaust heat level being around 500 deg would definetly recommend installing new gaskets (x4 needed)for a leak free system, hope this helps any and welcome aboard.  Z

Thanks for your reply Z. I was just surprised that it'll be that much for an install of a couple pipes. Maybe I can keep searching and find a better deal. Oh and I'm glad you brought up the gaskets I forgot about that.

It took me roughly two hours to install the DP and another hour for the exhaust so just to be clear,as mentioned earlier a fair amount would be 250 but no more than 300,best of luck and keep us updated.  Z

Where are you located? I wouldn't be surprised at all if a few board members would be happy to helping you in your "go fast addiction". :) If you were near D/FW, I'd be happy to do so. Wrench'n w/ buds is a blast and the end result is SO worth it.

Thanks for your service!

I'm in northern houston. I wish there were members close by looking to throw in some help. It sure would save me a good chunk of change. Haven't seen any modded SHO's around here tho.

That sounds about right. My local tune charged me 1.5 units for the downpipes and 1.0 hours for the corsa exhaust. at 90/hr it was roughly $225. I think you're on track now.

No FracaSHO sold me a new set of PPE DP's and a new Corsa exhaust along with two other goodies. Can't wait till they get here so I can hear it in person.

Similar quote here for my DP's 1.5hrs at $80...so I was just shy of $140 when all was said and done.

I was thinking I'll post a video after the install but so many people have already done it
