Just got back from the San Antonio Speedway last night and got results not as good as I was hoping for =-(

I have a 2014 SHO non-pp with adaptive cruise, collision avoidance, lane keeping, 20" factory 10 spoke wheels etc. in White with (weight with me in the car 4520 - I am 220 of that): Has dropped H&R springs installed,

Tune is:
Livernois: 3 bar 93 oct tune with catted down pipes and thermostat with re-gaped plugs

The post down pipe exhaust is still stock.

Times were all 13.2x between 13.21 and 13.26, plenty faster than some of the other cars that showed up =-)

Seems it should be faster maybe?? Not really sure where it should of fallen out at this point.

What was the temp? What was the DA?

Probably in the 2300' neighborhood last night...

Should correct to about:
Stock and Mildly Modified Naturally Aspirated Engines
12.851 @ 107.895 MPH

According to drag times website.

It was around 85 out which seemed cool for San Antonio lol, There was also a black SHO out there that did not seem to know what he had that ran a 13.0x I was impressed with that since there were alot of unanswered questions about it. Thinking about getting some shorter track tires for my ride, additional upgrades too maybe depending...

Post your best time slip.  Need to see all the numbers.

Sounds one heat and humidity were against you.  What were other cars running so we can compare to?

4 time slips and a pic are attachments if your logged in...

There was one other SHO *2011* unknown full mods that ran a 13.0x I talked to him but did not find out much about the car.

There were some mustangs and challengers etc running around 13.4's and having to pedal, I could not tell much wheel spin from the drivers seat just seemed to hook and leave. there was a new vette that was running 12.7's there were a lot of bikes and other cars in to 8-10's as well. I tried launching from 1800-2200 RPM without much change in time. My best time of 13.21 was after I flashed while at the track to improve shift speed. I guess just the added weight of all the features on the car plus lugging my FA around with the hotter temps was too much to over come lol...!

Your 60 foot times could be better. They should be closer to 1.8 from what I can see. Are you getting a lot of wheel spin off the line?

Thats not bad considering the weather and the DA, What exact tune are you running, cause i was one of the first to get the V8 tune back in 3/14 and its a beast and also do you hear your turbos spooling??To fully achieve the benefits of the DP a good exhaust and proper tune will give you better results in the outcome, good luck with the ride.

Oops, didn't see the attached pics on my phone!

Yeah, need to get out there when the DA is closer to 500', so in a month or two.  The guys hitting mid 12's are on the east coast tracks, which produce the fastest numbers for any car.  You'll hear people even say Atco is down hill lol.  Or they are at sea level and run on nights with a negative DA.  A 1.8 60' is the goal.  Just work on your launch, you'll perfect it eventually.  Could be a tenth or two there.

Remove any weight you can (spare tire, etc), gas tank at 1/4 or less.  100lb = a tenth usually.

A 13.2 is still respectable but I know with your tune+3bar+down pipes, you definitely want 12s.  Don't blame you.

I lived in Las Vegas for a while and my tune only 2006 A4 GTO would never get below a 13.4 on the coldest nights.  The elevation and higher temps just weren't ideal for drag racing.  People at Atco and other east coast tracks were posting 12.8/12.9's and it was frustrating lol.  I now live in the Colorado mountains, so I just try to be faster than the other guy.  SHO's are doing mid/high 14's here stock.

It is supposedly the livernois v8 3bar tune, I have been a tad frustrated with their naming conventions and getting a straight answer on what it is. It seems that their tunes are canned and their v8 3bar covers everything without being overly specific to mods. I had asked for a tune with the mods I had listed and it was not named for them, I had also gotten a v8 non-3bar version I did not ask for and it was the only one that had everything listed in the name.... I assume my tune is correct I have asked and been told it is... Seems like they could do a much better job with the whole deal

Car has 3500 miles on it now so more upgrades will come with time. The Corsa exhaust is too loud I want something very tame that flows better than stock. I am waiting to see if that cut out piece gets made and if that would fit...

So how should I know what tune I have?

With traction controll off it barely chirps the front tires during a launch, other with the v8 3bar sound like they have huge traction issues?

I asked for the 93 oct v8 3bar for the 2014 sho with Thermostat, plugs, down pipes and 3 bar map, do not believe adding a cat back would change it THAT much more?

What does it say exactly on the tuner? And yes, I'm spinning pretty good at launch with some tire hop into second...new tires might be needed now

The mycal only says 93 v8 3bar on the tuner, I called and asked and was told they do not use any standard when naming the files. I got another one that said 93 v8 DP TS but the car ran like crap because it was not 3bar I assume. I am frustraded about it a little.... I called and they said the tune was what I asked for...

It is running a 3bar v8 tune for sure, not sure what the tune without the downpipes accounted for would behave like. I do not feel like a small chirp from launch and no spin into second sounds like what others are seeing but a 13.21 is not a bad time. I thought I would be faster than the other SHO that was there since I had more done but he was running a 13.0....

Not many SHO's would run 12 second 1/4's in those conditions. Livernois had a track day, I think it was the year before last with terrible heat and humidity, everyone was in the low to mid 13's. It makes a huge difference.

I agree with Courier; I'd never run 12.5 anywhere else--the drag strip in Maryland is like one of the bests. It was 60F when I ran and the DA was like 500 feet; was last year I went. I did the run with the original 93 octane tune that Livernois first came out with; I didn't have downpipes, 3-bar, or t-stat. I've not ran it with new mods yet; weather is horrible.

Times seem about right for the weather conditions . I run 13.10s all night in 85 degree weather at the Edinburg Raceway .
