Replacing strut mount, H & R springs

After some really annoying noise coming from my driver side, strut mount area, when I steer left and right; I decided that it's time to slap a new strut mount on. I will be ordering one from the dealer this week. The noise is like a creaking noise, short but fast almost as click click--what others here described with lowering H&R springs. After listening to it with hood open, it seems strut mount 100%. Can anyone confirm getting rid of the noise with new strut mount?

Can anyone confirm the torque specs for the shock bolt that tightens the strut mount? Also the torque specs for the 2 lower bolts that connect to the Hub/knuckle (read online someplace 125 lb ft)?

2014 with H&R springs for about 3500 miles.

Note to all with H&R

Noise when steering, while stopped, or just at lower speeds. Mine came on like a year
later after installing HR. It was very minimum but pain the neck. I think some here expressed this issue while back. Anyhow, 100% is the black boot/dust cover. I think as the strut turns, the dust cover doesn't move as it's attached to the upper mount and pressed in by the bump stop. Since the boot is longer on the HR spring, it binds somewhere, bottom by the strut or the top at the mount part. Lubed the boot and the bump stop, in and out for both, and lubed the actual strut where the bottom of the boot sits. Also, lubed the strut (keep in mind the strut turns but the boot does not, so since the boot was long, it is possible it was catching on the strut). Anyhow, noise was gone instantly upon testing the car, and is gone for a month now, quite.

My initial thought was strut mount, as it sounded like it. Replaced the mount but the noise was still there, heck even worse as I cleaned the boot during the install. After lubing those areas the noise was gone.

I'm curious if cutting the boot just a little bit would alleviate this issue or even purchasing a shorter boot

You do not need to cut the boot. I cut the driver side about an inch, and it was still making noise as it still goes over the strut(this was without lube.Would the shorter boots be better, and not require lube? Most likely, I just didn't cut it short enough, and after the lube, it worked fine). However, I was able to duplicate the noise on the passenger side. How!? I put the car up on jacks, just so the wheels lift off the ground, to get room to go in with your hands. I pulled the boot down, separating it from the upper mount, and feeling the bump stop(keep in mind nothing is removed, just lifting the car off the ground, wheels are on). I did this to to check how it sit on the other side vs the side that was making noise. So once I placed the boot back in the way that it was. When I went for a ride, what was known as good side, started making the same noise as my driver side-slightly less (keep in mind that it was not making noise before). At this point it was obvious what the cause was. I then lubed the passenger side(the one with the OEM uncut boot) the same way that I did to the driver side, and there were no noises.

I used energy suspension white grease and white lithium grease/spray on the inside of the boot where it touches the bump stop(as it was easy to spray it in). To grease these, you need to pull the boot down and separate it from the upper mount, so you can grease/spray on and from top.

IMO; The noise sound never sounded like rubber, which lead me to believe that it was the strut mount. I swear it sounded like metallic clicking/popping. Those people that have these issues can probably agree with me. If someone told me that it was the boot, I would be like; I highly doubt it...
