I was pulling onto a street and I thought it was just snow covered; turned out it was a drop off with no pavement on other side of entrance. I backed out and off it went.
The part is costing me $144; hopefully nothing else was damaged. I just drove 60 miles with no issues; ugh not a good day.
Your SHO deserves its' Workman's Comp! Normally they cover construction areas like that with steel plates, guess they figured "everyone who needs to know, knows".
that cover has been such a headache for me it falls off so ez 2 of the clips at back poped off going threw snow. got it put back next day it popped off again. go back to ford they say its broken i think they used zip ties or something to do the one side but im finding its staying on better with there jimmy rig job so im just gonna put it off and order the part later. i heard the cops got a sweet metal skid plate.
something not right if falls off all the time. If the 1/4 turn fastener are turned til they lock in it aint going no where. Perhaps your clips have been sprung from improper removal or tightening. Luckly those can be bought. If you lose a screw you'll be buying the whole cover. Storm hang on those 1/4 turn screws, I am sure there are those out there that will pay a handsome price for them.
