Sell me meth for a daily driver

I've always stayed away from Meth, but now going to 3 bar-- I at least want to talk about it.

Is it as a big of a pain in the ass as it sounds?

Does the meth/water automatically inject? (I'm sure this is a completely subjective question, but I'd like some personal feed back) How often do you have to refill this thing.

If it's empty and you're driving around, do you just have to not WOT till you refill the tank?

Even in my weekend car, I just use extra gas instead of meth.

Thoughts?

Think you'd be better off not doing drugs(meth) while daily driving!!! Ahh, j/k, one of the wise ones will chime in with experience shortly, I bet.

I feel like this videohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkPFZWd8wj4 does a nice job of explaining how meth works.

Generally speaking, meth is sprayed based on boost pressure, so once the boost reaches a certain level, the spray kicks in. As far as how long it lasts, I don't have the ability to give even a general range (X miles or X gallons or whatever) because I don't have it on mine, but you can logically conclude that the heavier your foot, the faster you'll go through it.

As far as driving on an empty meth tank, that would be a question better answered by someone who has a system currently. From what information I do have, I believe the answer is "sure" but you'd want to be very careful to stay below the meth injection threshold because I believe that's when you'd start to see the advanced timing that takes advantage of the meth injection. If you're getting advanced timing but not getting meth to the cylinders, you're asking for a heap of trouble. The good news is I believe the methanol mix recommended for the kit Torrie sells is pretty readily available.

My single biggest concern with meth right now would be the potential for catastrophic engine failure in the event of a loss of meth, be it through a pump failure, clogged nozzle, running out of meth or any other potential scenario that could lead to catastrophic engine damage. I need to get with Torrie on that and see if there's some kind of failsafe device that would detect a loss of meth and pull timing or otherwise somehow prevent a situation like that.

You'll almost certainly need a new ECU or piggy back with a meth map or support in it for something like that. That's why I'm not so keen on meth in a daily is(to my knowledge) there's no way to tell the car or the car to tell the computer that there's no meth left, or a problem with the meth.

Thanks for the response

I think some if not most the kits come with a dash light/ display to warn you if you are running low.

I also know of people who run washer fluid (-40 stuff which is easy to find here in Canada) and use the windshield washer tank. Cars sometimes have an indicator light that warns when you are running low. Then no extra tank in trunk or gauge to clutter the dash. ;)

I'm running meth on my truck with the AEM kit.
Erick at LET sets the tune to use the meth, but not rely on the meth.

As Mike B. found out with his Flex, these vehicles are very smart and will go out of their way to save the motor by slamming the throttle shut, if it thinks things are going sketchy.

Just flew back into the country from the 1st leg of our family vacation.

Tons of crap to catch up on before heading back out for 2nd leg late tomorrow afternoon.

Jtrain..... I'll try to remember shooting you a PM in the next day or so, but long story short, Methanol, on a Daily Driver is perfectly fine.

There are plenty of benefits, & not just in the power gains dept.

We'll trade PM's soon..... & you don't need a new ECU either.

Hi Jtrain, I have the Alky 100% METH sys (as well as Crash & bpd) I don't think me or Crash use near as much Meth as BPD (5 gal a month LOL), I have the 1st 5gal I got in Sept 2013. I day to day drive w/Meth and have had 3 track days doing this time. If you keep your foot out of it(Not hitting 80mph on the Enter ramp) the METH will not come on most of the time. As far as running low there is a low light and a 2 stage use lite. Here is my MyCal Meth set-up.

I've started poking around and doing my own research- Look pretty viable-- especially if I can find room for a 7 gal tank.

I'm definitely a heavy footed driver.

I still need to open the exhaust up on my ride, I'll likely do that first. But this will definitely be on the list

Wonder how much power I'll stick in this thing before I start burning clutch packs ;)
