If they had released this car in the mid 2000's as opposed to the early 2010 they would have been road kings for years... Plus if they used a twin turbo Yamaha motor...With a manual option... And yes... Those dumb seats with the adjustable bolsters that no one admits they love... Lol... So many ifs..Regardless...fords cars have never held value extremely well...

Except the cobras, 03/04 terminator is still 16-25k depending on mileage, condition, options, etc. I have seen a few low mileage SHOs listed for less than 03/04 cobras locally. But that is a totally different beast, rather than taking a powerplant that is in many fords and making a performance option to one model (taurus) ford made a specific powerplant for a specific muscle car.

I think if we wait long enough, the SHO value may rise a tad, but the big issue is not many know what they are. And as you said, no manual option is a bit annoying.

From a modder/performance standpoint, I do think there are some SHOs that are worth more than others, based mainly on the input of those who have worked on them/driven them. Ie. your car is supposedly a "freak" that will take a whole lotta spark on pump gas, that adds value in my eyes, but not to most.
Right.. hence the Yamaha comment.. the older shos held their value well..Just took time to sell them... Specific engine for a specific car like you said...

The gen 4's loose that uniqueness because there really isn't anything really special right? Nothing in these cars that can't be found in other Ford models... Except maybe all the a$$holes that drive them

I just never look at cars from an investment standpoint because to date I have never MADE money off a car...Closest was my wife's Fusion... And we sold it for what we paid for it after two years of driving it...

Totally feel ya on that. Closest I have ever gotten was trade on on my 04 F150 for the SHO, got 3k less than I payed for the truck, but it also had 2x the miles, and had been hit a few times since I got it.

I generally buy a car based on my needs/wants for it, not how it will hold its value. Especially when buying a car brand new, as you take a hit right of the bat for almost all cars.
