Service issue 2013 Taurus SHO...tuning questions.

Ok, well....for the last month I had a nightmare service issue with my 2013 Taurus SHO.  It's so annoying because my car only has 8,200 miles....

Anyway, after the dealership had the car for 3 weeks, yes....3 weeks, they replaced the fuel pump (which was not the issue so they found out) and the fuel pump control module which corrected the issue.  Apparently they had to work with the 'tech hotline' as they were stumped.

My car had a tune, and of course, I placed it back to stock while my car was dead on the highway btw, but my question is does the tune mess with these parts??

I'm hesitant to put the tune back in because this was such a long repair...I have used tuners on many cars and never had issues.....I just don't know

What do you guys think?

The tune didn't cause this.

Sounds like your service department has some serious issues and some techs that like to hang parts.

Look at the bright side, you got a free fuel pump.

You did the right thing going back to stock. Next time flash it, turn everything on and let the battery die.

If they ask tell them you were jammin waiting for the tow.

2013's had a fuel pump recall.

Do you know If it was done originally?

I think it's a federal policy that all recalls up to delivery be done before it's given to the customer.....I work in a Caddy/Chevy dealership and we can't sell cars that have recalls that are waiting for parts for this exact rule.

Thanks for the answer...maybe Ill go back to the tune...

Mark... No. The tune does not affect the LPFP or the fuel control module... BTW I had the same issue... It took my dealer < 6 hrs to fix....?they did the LPFP first... Then when they tried to test drive it died in the road... So they did the FCM.

Funny, I just got my car back yesterday for the same thing. It took 3 weeks to the day because the fcm was on back order.

When was this recall for the 2013 started? My SHO is at the stealership right now for a P0087 code (low pressure in fuel rails). I saw a TSB for that so they are going to do that but not sure if the fuel pump needed to done on my particular SHO. The stealership did not say anything about it.
