and thats the only remaining picture I can find of her :( 10 years is a long time to keep digital stuff

Mine was  1970 Dodge Van (which replaced my Nash Rambler wagon with pushbutton auto and flathead V8)... No side windows... Turned it into a rolling palace on monster rubber.  I couldn't get dates because parents wouldn't let me take there daughters off in it...... sadly no digital pics, 'cuz I was born before driver's licenses LOL

Yeah I might be on the younger side of SHO drivers, only 32 :). But I do have a respect for older cars, always wanted to turn a 4 door Plymouth Satellite into a sleeper :P

Ooooooh... still could be sweet!

As a senior in High School, I rolled with a Camaro that looked just like this except I had Cragars and a 350.  Headers, header mufflers, traction bars and a Holley.

Have to add this one too!  Shortly after HS.

Actually, it was just a 350 stock.  But once a cop told me it was fast!

Still ... a 442!

After my van came my 1968 Charger...as a senior in high school...

Had the same problem as you... got  to 140 in a 55.... the cop didn't want to arrest me... so he made me sign the ticket, but kept the ticket and told me if he would issue it if he ever heard me get stopped on his radio... LOL

2002 Ford Focus ZX4 - 2.0 Zetec

Ford Racing Stage 2 Cams
Fidanza Adjustable Cam Gears
BBK 65mm TB
AEM Short Ram Intake
Focus Sport Spark Plug Wires
JBA Shorty Header
Random Tech High Flow Cat
Bosal Flex pipe
Focus Sport Stealth Exhaust
Ford Racing Crank UDP
SCT Datalog Tune
Recaro Leather Seats (Front)
17" Ford Racing Wheels
H&R Sport Springs
EBC Drilled and Slotted Rotors
EBC Green Stuff Pads
Tinted Windows
Tinted Tails
Tinted Side Markers
Euro Headlights (integrated turns)
Euro Grille (no turns)
Modified Mustang Mach 1 Chin Spoiler

Even with all of that crap, the car was still a pig. My girlfriend (now wife) had a stock '05 Focus ZX4 with the 2.0 Duratec at the same time and it would absolutely destroy the '02. I did get a lot of compliments on the looks of the '02 though.

EDIT: I added a couple more pictures from when the car had argent gray EAP wheels, clear markers, and PIAA fogs.

Im also on the younger side of sho owners at 25 =]. My first car i bought i still own. A 1990 nissan 300zx.  It started life as a non turbo auto car and is now a twin turbo 5spd that puts down around 500 horses. It has been taken apart and put back together quite a few times now. Here are a few pictures.

Dang, that Z is freaking sweet.

I'm a youngun too, at 28 years. With I could say some of these awesome classics were my first love!

Had a few tinkerings early on. But the one that I really consider a first love, is my Mazdaspeed 6.

Bought it new in 2006, and sold it late last year, just before I bought the SHO. Missing some things about it, that's for sure. Awesome car.

This is the closest I can come to a classic.

My current project, and truest love-

The first car that really sparked my interest in performance vehicles was my 1997 (E36) BMW M3 coupe. I bought the car totally stock with 70k miles in 2010 and while it wasn't super fast, 240BHP/240TQ, I was totally blown away by the car's handling. I did a lot of work on the car in my garage (entire cooling system, entire clutch + flywheel, entire suspension) but I kept it 100% stock, since most of the remaining E36 M3s on the streets are now heavily modified. I put about 30k miles on the car before selling it in late 2011 because I needed a larger sedan (the SHO) to haul the family around.

That is a beautiful 6.  I wanted one so bad when they came out.

Nice rides above!
For me, it was my dad's car when it all started. The ultimate sleeper for the time: 1994 and 1997 Cadillac Seville STS. It was ripping off most of the cars 20 years ago with a 0-60 of 6.6 seconds (FWD with a lot of steering!). I was around 18-20 years old and my parents would take the Explorer to go to the cottage house, so during those three years, I was driving the Caddy most of the weekends! I raced it, my father knew it, as long as the gas was at the same level when he came back... It was an untold agreement... We both knew without never talking about it lol
It had the Northstar 32 valves, 300hp! Just for a comparison, the Mustang GT had 225hp at that time.
Here are a few pics that I found on the net, it looked just about the same:

The cobra was probably my first fast car back in 2004.  With just a 2.80 pulley, K&N FIPK, and Maggie catback it was making 460/472 whp in 90 degree South Florida heat.  I made one run in it at PBIR and it ran 12.64 @ 116 mph on street radials.  I miss that eaton whine.

The 2007 Z was a really nice handling car.  Decent power with the 3.5HR motor.  I deleted the resonator and had the twin Fujita intakes.  Sounded really nice.

The SRT4 was a blast to drive.  Car would dam near rip the steering wheel out of you hands when the turbo came on full boil.  It made 358/368 whp on a hot and humid day.  It Cat Certified scales with 1/2 tank of fuel at 3104.

no pics sorry to say. 1971 340 plymouth duster. had a 340 w/275hp w/torqueflight, a tranny way ahead of its time  & duster weighed nothing. after my dads tweaking it a little, he was a mechanic, best run was 13.9. white with lots of black & chrome trim including chrome wheels. i've done my best to get my SHO to look as much as possible like her. sadly to say the arab oil embargo & change in gas killed her & traded it on my first & only ford till the sho, that was a mustang II piece of crap.

I've loved those cars since childhood... While we were dating my wife's neighbor had a 1965 Shelby 427 Cobra, which I have later learned was 1 of the original 260 produced,  when we were dating.... They were special!  Wonder what it's worth today?
I used to get in hot water by going over to his house to talk about it with him and get rides, LOL

The year was 1960 and I was just out of high school. First car was a 1956 Ford Sunliner with a 312 cube TBird power plant. I got bit by the mod bug hard!  Converted the auto to stick with floor shift, put in 4:11 rear end, bored to 322 cubic inches added "57 heads with 2 inch intakes, Crane cam and kit, Malory ignition, Ford two four barrel carb set up. I had that same engine and power train in two more cars the next of which was most dear to me.....a 1954 Mercury Sun Valley. I torched the front coils and went out looking for fun at stop lights. That was a national pass time in the day. I actually got stopped late one night by a trooper who just wanted to see what I had under the hood. Good Old Days!

No pictures stored on the internet for them, but I had a pretty unhealthy obsession with MkIII Supras for a while.  I had to get serious with them, because the motors lose head gaskets from the factory torque specs being too low, and/or the gasket being the wrong kind.  Once this is fixed, they run pretty well.

I just love boxy, angular, and low-slung cars.
