SPARK PLUGS AND OTHER MAINTENANCE

Hello everyone, new to this site and looking forward to reading, posting, and responding! Anyways, I wanted to ask you all about just some basic maintenance to keep up with my SHO. I'm approaching 60k miles soon. What services should I do. Spark plugs are a for sure but not sure if I should stick to the motor craft sp534 or if there is something better. And if they should be gapped at .030 or .035

The car isn't tuned.. YET but will be soon. Other mods include CAI, cat-back, downpipes.

Any other maintenance recommendations? New trans fluid, turbo clamps, knock sensor wires, PTU fluid, etc?

Thanks guys! Here is a pic of my baby by the way.

Welcome to the forum, moem, glad to have you & your SHO here!  Illinois?  What year SHO?  Original owner?

All the items you mentioned are good to check/change.  Plugs gapped to 0.030 if you are tuning soon.

Welcome aboard the ECOPOWER FORUM  partner, good lookin ride and you need any mods for your vehicle speak with 4DRHTRD and good luck with the ride.

Welcome!

For plugs, get NGK 6510 and gap to .30 when you tune.  Make sure you get the 3BAR MAP sensor ($60) and let your tuner know.  Only install this when you get the tune.

A lot of people say swapping the fluid in the PTU makes a big difference.  Ford says this is non serviceable but this needs to be done every 50-60k miles it appears.

Also looks like you need some new tail lights!!  Lot of guys are installing the SEL tails, as they don't have the peeling chrome issues.

Thanks man! Yes Illinois! 2010 SHO. I'm the second owner and it was well maintained.

I should be tuning soon but cant say when exactly. I will probably do the spark plugs first. Should I gap them you think now or wait.

Hmm thanks man. Think the NGKs' are better than the motorcraft? Im gonna replace the plugs before the tune so I was wondering if I should gap them now. I'm going to tune with livernois, get the 3bar from them?

Hahah yah I DEFINITELY need to get the SEL lights. Im currently trying to swap mine out. That pealing is killing me.

Thanks for the response!

Welcome to the forum.

The only difference I find is that the NGKs are about 3x the cost of SP534s, which are Iridium.  I run the LMS v8 3BAR tune.

Pretty sure gapping .030 for after tune but .035 is ok pre tune. 3 bar is actually for sale through this sites sales at ecopowerparts.com(lms doesn't carry I think)

No.  We have had them.  They didn't make it to the website.  The website has been neglected some because we are in the process of building a whole new site.  It will be a comprehensive site covering all our offerings and be much more user friendly.

Need those sales guys up front to pitch these with the basic tune package. Had know idea to ask when I stopped by to pick up tuner, plugs, tstat, and CAI.

Regarding sparkplug and other maintenance, should be performed more frequently based on having a tune, which literally puts more stress on the engine and drivetrain, for example just look at your tailpipes after a week of washing them??,just my 2 cent.
