Sumerduck, VA 1/8 Mile Track

Not what I was hoping by a long shot, but not terrible. DA was 2250 (82F with 79% humidity). This track which I found out when I got there is known apparently as an uphill track... which you can visibly see. I almost turned around lol...

Based on the other cars running I don't think I did too bad. The water box is literally right at the fence line so it was impossible to go completely around it. The guys were commenting on how my front tires were spinning. Which might explain the 60 foot times. Didn't seem to matter where I launched the car in the RPMs, the front would spin a bit.

This was with my LMS tune, I was going to run Brads but they wouldn't let me leave and come back so I could get the OAR adjusted.

Not sure I will visit that track again.... MIR is MUCH better.. and flat lol...

What would this equate to? 12.7-12.8??

Not fast enough is what it equates too... I have been voicing me concerns to LMS that the meth tune is weak...

I agree... my non meth tune from recent is a good bit faster

Based on other posted runs... its about a 12.8... granted.. that track is a slow track.. I will with hold judgement until I get to a track that is better setup.

Glad you got it to the track.  I'm sure you'll do better at a different track.  I have no doubt that your car is a beast with the right tune.

I wish more on here would get to the track.  Dyno numbers and simulations are worthless to me.  I'm old school and rely on a time slip to see how a car actually performs.

I could be wrong, but I suspect Brad's tune would have been a major improvement.  Seat of the pants and guesses from the data logs don't tell the whole story.  My Unleashed tune feels way more stout than Brads tune, but I seriously doubt it would put down the same numbers.

SBS- Its not weak but in Dire need of a Tweak!! But still you were able to get a good run in considering your 60' times which are crucial.
I found lowering the tires down to 24 fr-26 rear psi to be the sweet spot for me.
I think you just need to get her dialed in properly and forsee a 12.1 in the Horizon. Z

I noticed yesterday on the way back from the track that my alky pump is not building pressure correctly... could be part of it not so great times. I have a call into Alky..

Additionally, being as the pump issue is power related I took the car to have the battery and alternator tested (BTW: that alternator looks like a NIGHTMARE to replace) just rule to them out. Interestingly enough, the old crusty guy doing the testing used to race at Sumerduck all the time AND worked on the crew that did the land survey before and after the track was updated.

The left lane is shorter than the right by 4 feet.
The track is uphill, the elevation is an additional 10 feet from start to finish.

Makes sense as my best times were in the left lane!

As suspected that track is not great for seeing what you can do. Probably fine for seeing if you are making the right changes, but for ET's not so much.

And this is why the alternator is a b**** to remove

Vehicles equipped with a 3.5L GTDI engine
  Remove the A/C compressor :o :o :o

Well this just sucks... those time are garbage from a data collecting standpoint... 8.25 was my best all night... all the other runs were 8.31 consistently. 6 runs in total... actually had a couple that were higher MPH but slower.. meaning my launched sucked.. probably being unable to really avoid the water box didn't help. ANYWAY...

Turns out my alky pump wasn't spraying much at all... wish I had datalogged... after 6 runs I had barely TOUCHED the meth in the tank. Oh well.. rookie move! All fixed now..
