All I know is 100 octane unleaded is available here for 7.50 a gallon so they have their work cut out for them on pricing because the masses will never pay that much. 100-150 dollar fill ups ya right..

BTW, I hear there are some Kwik Trips out in WI that are offering 88 gas, which some people say has been great for mpg improvement.  Anyone tried it?

the reason 100 octane is priced so high right now is because it isn't mass produced on the scale 91/93 octane is. from reading articles, it seems they are going to make 100 octane the new 93 and eventually phase out 87 octane. the oil companies know price is a big issue in public acceptance so they're trying to keep it 10 to 15 cents more per gallon than 93.
