Switching tunes at the track?

So I have two tunes to test this Friday, a 14lb tune and a 14.5lb tune to go with learning hard launches hurt my ET.

Will switching tunes half way through the night be a dumb idea?

Other than the KAM reset is there any issues to trying this ?

I expect a run or two of running up or over the REV limiter.. I'm OK with that.  By run 3 it should know where to shift under WOT.

THOUGHTS?

(Obviously let the car learn to idle, come to temp).

Since you have a 2010-2012 your oar will reset back to 0 when you reflash.
So I'm not sure you'll get to most out of it until it readjusts back .96-1.0.

On torque it will get back to -1.0 but on the sct x4 it only goes to -.96.

My car did weird things at the track until it fully adjusted.

Are you referring to fuel trims?

Ya,  learnt my lesson son.. don't do it.

I switched tunes at the track and it ran exactly what it had run the last time I ran that tune, which I had run for weeks before racing the first time.

For my gen-1 sho flashing also clears KAM, and mess my OAR up.  It takes about a hour for my car to get back to optimal timing and a day or two for shift behavior.

weird I can change tunes on the fly, clear KAM, and then run it and it's fine.

Might have ran "fine" but your adaptives got reset along with your OAR and I/M monitors so when that happens you won't be getting your full spark from octane adjust ratio....Often it doesn't take long to get it back though.

fiveleeter you have any data logs taken via livelink?

This is Coming from the master Mech at the Dealer WE NOW TRUST..

Prior to Programming always have a Charger on the Battery,
DO NOT Download unless Battery Voltage is 12.5 VDC Minimum "Corrected"

After Smoking an ECU, and locking up the SCT  I learned the hard way,
Always, always check the battery Voltage, (and Have a charger hooked
to the Battery).  WE Did this OFFSITE:  The Lights and Radio were on,
Battery was on its way out, SO:

This Miss step cost me a A Tow, An ECU, A F*&^* from
the First Dealer Money Wise, Plus they Broke the Windshield taking the Wiper
off the Driver Side, and covered It Up, We found that out one month Later

SO when i added all the cost up.. I CRIED (yea Over a Grand)
