Thunder Valley 5/20/16

Made it out to Thunder Valley Dragway this last Friday night for the opening night of street legals. While I didn't get my 12 second pass, it was still a fun time.

1st run vs 04 CL55 AMG

2nd run vs Turbo Civic on slicks

For comparison's sake, last year I went 13.600 @101mph on a 2 bar 91 octane tune. A stock SHO will go 14.50's at our track. Stock 2011 CTSV that was out there Friday couldn't get anything better than 13.50's. New 5.0's were having trouble breaking out of the low 14's.

Nice improvement!  Did you feel you laid down the best 60' you could?  Brake launch, etc.?

On the first pass I didn't bring it up enough, launched at maybe 1800rpms. The 13 flat pass I was able to bring it up to 2200-2300rpms and launch it proper. They were having issues all night with the christmas tree, one of the bulbs was even burnt out haha I do have a public video up on my FB page of the 13.2 pass against the AMG, search for "Matt Mellem"

That tree was trying to psych you out LOL!  Looked good burning up the track.
